The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a role in various space endeavors with our partners that include NASA, Intuitive Machines, Axiom Space, Lockheed Martin, and others.\nResponsibilities\nThe Simulation Software Engineer will:\nDevelop and maintain simulation software for lunar surface operations, including real-time and faster-than-real-time environments\nDesign and implement high-fidelity models of vehicle dynamics, environment, sensors, and system interfaces\nSupport hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulation development, integration, and testing\nPerform verification and validation (V&V) of simulation models and enable FDIR testing through fault modeling and scenario development\nSupport flight software, ground systems, and mission operations through simulation and test environments\nContribute to crew training and mission readiness through realistic simulation scenarios\nOwn the full software lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support\nContribute to Agile development cycles, including planning, integration, and verification activities\nIntegrate within a multi-disciplinary engineering team and interface with hardware developers and subsystem engineers\nProvide technical input during major milestones and program reviews\nPerform other duties as assigned\nQualifications\nRequired Education/Experience/Skills:\nBS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Technology, Physics, or Math from an accredited institution, plus five (5) years of related software development experience.\nExperience with simulation frameworks and tools such as Trick, Unreal Engine, or similar simulation environments\nExperience with 6-degrees-of-freedom (6-DOF) simulation development\nProficiency in object-oriented programming (e.g., C/C++)\nExperience in one or more of the following: spacecraft dynamics, thermal modeling, power systems, RF communications, sensor modeling (e.g., IMUs, star trackers, LIDAR), or GNC integration\nExperience with Git-based platforms (e.g., GitLab, GitHub) and development tools (e.g., JIRA)\nExperience working on cross-disciplinary engineering teams\nStrong communication, coordination, and presentation skills\nProven ability to collaborate effectively with customers and stakeholders\nPreferences:\nHardware/software integration experience\nExperience with High Level Architecture (HLA) and Federation Object Models (FOMs).\nExperience supporting spaceflight programs\nFamiliarity with CMMI frameworks\nExperience with Agile development methodologies\nExperience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker)\nExperience with data visualization tools (e.g., Grafana)\nMaster's degree in related field\nEssential Requirements\nMust be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.\nApplicant selected may be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.\nWork may involve sitting for extended periods.\nMay require lifting and carrying up to 25 lb.\nMust have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.\nGenerally, an office environment but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.\nStandard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.)\nRegular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.\nAbility to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.\nMust be able to work in a team atmosphere.\nMust put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.\nGrooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.\nThis position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.\nDon’t miss out on this great opportunity; for immediate consideration, apply now!\nBarrios Technology is a drug-free workplace, which is imperative to the health and safety of all employees and is required as a condition of receiving contracts from federal agencies.
