As NASA’s largest engineering solutions provider working together with NASA at centers across the United States.\nWe have an exciting opportunity for a Spaceflight Battery Hardware Project Engineer t o join the team with Barrios, a teammate company!\nResponsibilities\nThe Spaceflight Battery Hardware Project Engineer will:\nProvide design and test support in various aspects of development in support of the Johnson Space Center Engineering Directorate\n\nSupport project teams with development of test procedures and verification and validation processes\n\nPerform testing and verification of flight hardware\n\nMaintain and ensure baseline test configurations and document any configuration changes\n\nGenerate essential paperwork and documents for tasks assigned, such as Task Performance Sheets (TPS), Discrepancy Reports (DR), and Detailed Test Procedures (DTP), as needed\n\nWork in a collaborative, team environment and report to project managers for technical support, task assignment, and processes\n\nPlan and execute hardware troubleshooting to investigate mechanical and electrical failures within hardware or test support hardware\n\nWork with project assigned personnel to resolve any roadblocks to keep the project executing on schedule and moving forward\n\nPerform job functions based on pre-established guidelines or instructions\n\nWork with technicians to build and test designed systems\n\nPerform other duties as required\n\nQualifications\nRequired Education/Experience/Skills:\nBachelor's degree in engineering, plus two (2) years of experience in the field or in a related area\n\nFamiliar with electrical components and systems\n\nAbility to work independently when required\n\nSelf-motivated, team player with adaptability to a dynamic environment and the ability to complete all assignments as required\n\nAbility to operate in a laboratory environment and perform necessary troubleshooting tasks\n\nAbility to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings.\n\nMust have the ability to visualize and work with complex mechanical/electrical systems and work with others in problem solving as part of a team\n\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Office products\n\nPreferences:\nBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering\nExperience with the design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of space hardware\nExperience with NASA JSC Flight Hardware Life Cycle, Certification, and Engineering processes\nPrior experience with hardware anomaly troubleshooting and failure analysis.\nExperience with procedure development\nCo-op or Intern experience at JSC or other NASA agency\nFamiliarity with the Engineering Life Cycle process\nPrior experience working and coordinating requirements with third party/outside vendors\nFamiliarity with NASA Quality operational procedures and requirements\nWilling to work off hours/alternative shifts when running tests.\nEssential Requirements\nMust be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.\nApplicant selected may be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.\nWork may involve sitting for extended periods.\nMay require lifting and carrying up to 25 lb.\nMust have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.\nGenerally, an office environment but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.\nStandard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.)\nRegular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.\nAbility to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.\nMust be able to work in a team atmosphere.\nMust put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.\nGrooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.\nThis position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.\nDon’t miss out on this great opportunity; for immediate consideration, apply now!\nBarrios Technology is a drug-free workplace, which is imperative to the health and safety of all employees and is required as a condition of receiving contracts from federal agencies.
