This position playsan important rolein protecting client trust and supporting responsible growth across our architecture, engineering, and construction management entities, giving you the opportunity to influence strategy at both project and enterprise levels.\nNegotiate complex design, EPC, design-build, and construction management contracts with clients and project partners\nDraft and revise AIA, EJCDC,ConsensusDocs, DBIA, and owner-drafted agreements to align with business and project needs\nLead contract negotiations in partnership with the Executive Team, Project Leadership, and Procurement\nMaintainthe firm's contract and template library to support consistency and speed in deal execution\nAdvise project teams on risk mitigation, projectselection, and deliverymethodology\nSupport business development through proactive contract strategy and direct client engagement\nGuide project teams through legal and risk considerations from kickoff through close-out\nManage dispute resolution matters, including client discussions, liens, mediation, arbitration, litigation, and settlements\nCoordinate with insurers and outside counsel on professional liability, builder's risk, and construction-specific insurance matters\nSupport licensing, corporate governance, and risk management strategy across Design Group entities\nWhat You'll Bring\nQualifications\nJD from an accredited law school\nLicensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state\n5+ years of legal experience supporting construction, commercial contracts, or project delivery work\nExperience drafting and negotiating design-build, EPC, and construction management contracts\nWorking knowledge of construction insurance, including professional liability, and ability to travel up to 15%\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience working with architecture, engineering, construction management, or EPC organizations\nExperience with AIA, EJCDC,ConsensusDocs, DBIA, or owner-drafted contract forms\nAt Barry-Wehmiller we recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job.
