The role works closely with the US procurement team, the design and project teams, and other disciplines.\nTo keep procurement activities organized, well documented, and moving smoothly across projects. We are looking for someone with a strong engineering background and a good understanding of how procurement works in AEC or manufacturing settings. We are seeking a candidate who is looking for a long-term association with the organization.\nLocation: Chennai (DG Chennai office)\nReports to: Pre-Construction Manager (Chennai) Works with: US Procurement Team (peers), Design/Project Teams, and other disciplines as required.\nQualifications and Experience: \nDiploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related discipline).\nMore than 10 years of total professional experience, of which around 3 years should be in procurement-related work.\nBackground in an AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) company or a manufacturing company is preferred.\nKey Responsibilities:\nCollect and document vendor quotations and submittals: Gather quotations, submittals, and supporting documents from vendors. Log and organize them in a consistent, traceable format.\nDocument vendor cost data across projects: Record and organize the cost data received from vendors for various projects in a structured, searchable format, such as cost logs and bid tabulations.\nBuild and maintain a cost data repository: Keep historical vendor pricing accurate and up to date so the team can reference it for future projects.\nManage submittals in project tools: Upload, log, and track documents in Procore or a similar platform. Keep revisions and statuses current.\nCoordinate design team review: Share vendor quotes and submittals with the design team, follow up until the review is done, and record the feedback.\nVerify completeness and consistency: Check that each quote and submittal matches the RFQ requirements. Flag gaps or deviations to the US team and design team.\nFollow up on vendor responses: Track quotations and submittals against deadlines and send reminders when needed. The US team owns the main vendor relationship.\n Support RFQ preparation (as needed): Help the US team by gathering inputs, specifications, and drawings from the design and project teams.\nCoordinate with US peers and inter-disciplines: Work with US procurement colleagues and the relevant discipline teams as required.\nRequired Knowledge and Skills:\nStrong documentation skills: accurate, well-organized, and traceable records at every step.\nExperience organizing, tracking, and maintaining vendor cost data in structured formats.\nUnderstanding of the complete procurement lifecycle, from requisition and RFQ through quotation, evaluation, and purchase order.\nWorking knowledge of project execution and the trades and disciplines involved, such as Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Process.\nKnowledge of what a typical vendor RFQ should contain, such as scope of supply, specifications, drawings, commercial terms, and submittal requirements.\nKnowledge of documentation and submittal management tools.
