Who will be responsible for producing PLC and HMI code for the equipment and production lines that we supply. Working closely with our mechanical and electrical design to ensure that we fulfil the project requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner. While providing an exceptional customer experience by achieving our Operational Excellence goals of on-time shipment, zero warranty and vertical start-ups at our customers facility.\nResponsibilities:\nSupport and promote good teamwork within and outside of engineering, and act in line with the company’s\npolicies and values\nResponsible for the Design & Development of new Control Systems\nUpgrading of Existing Equipment & Integration with new Automation / Controls\nConduct site surveys & participate technical meetings on customer sites\nDevelopment of Functional, Detailed and Software Design Specifications from User Requirement Specifications\nPLC (including safety) / HMI Programming - Siemens, Rockwell & others as applicable\nSystem design and creation of required robot, PLC and HMI programming using IEC 61131-3 languages\nEnsure all engineering produced complies with the relevant Directives and Harmonised standards\nPerform design and machinery risk assessments to ISO 12100. Implementing countermeasure for identified risks\nEnsure that all relevant documentation is included in the CE technical file\nEnsure customer documentation accurately reflects supplied machinery and is complete by the required date\nParticipate in Internal and Customer PDI’s\nSign Off equipment and projects as ready to ship. Confirming that they are fit for purpose, complete and tested\nStart up, commission and fault find equipment on our customers sites and support them remotely as required\nEnsure that the latest version of the equipment software is uploaded and identified on the company network\nReview site reports daily for assigned products & projects, and ensure any support is given as a matter of urgency\nSupport the Production, Field Service and Customer Service departments as and when required\nSupport our commercial team & customers, using your technical expertise to find innovative solutions\nAssist Applications with technical solutions and input on expected timelines\nEnsure that assigned tasks are completed within agreed timelines and in a cost-effective manner\nIdentify, and support process & product improvements. Utilising L3 tools\nSupport innovation and new product line integration\nAllocate time engineering to relevant MO through ATM and complete timesheet daily (target absorption 90%)\nEnsure that expense forms are completed, and receipts submitted to finance within a month\nEnsure that assigned work areas are kept tidy, free from hazards and always customer ready\nComply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, current legislation and BWIS company policies & procedures\nEnsure safety glasses and shoes are always worn in the assembly areas along with addition PPE when required\nTravel to customer sites and other business locations, which may be at short notice and require overnight stays\nBe available & have flexibility to work overtime on evenings and weekends when it is required\nAttend training courses to support your duties and development. Which may not be held at Doncaster and\nrequire travel both in the UK or overseas\nMinimum Qualifications & Experience:\n2+ years’ experience in Controls & Automation, ideally in the packaging industry\nEducation in a relevant engineering discipline to HNC / HND qualification\nSoftware design experience on Rockwell &/or Siemens PLCs and HMIs is essential\nKnowledge and experience of using industrial comms protocols (EthernetIP &/or Profinet) is essential\nMotion and servo control systems experience would be beneficial\nExcellent interpersonal and time management skills to deal with the response time pressures that can arise due\nto the nature of this industry\nAbility to convert verbal, written, and other media-based information into project documentation\nExcellent computer skills, being proficient in Microsoft Office packages such as Excel, Word, and Outlook etc.\nThe ability to simultaneously organize and successfully execute multiple project responsibilities.\nA self-starter with a ‘can do’ flexible attitude.\nAbility to work as an individual or as part of a team.\nDrive and determination to succeed.\nThe Company:\nFor more than half a century, BW Integrated Systems has been providing advanced conveyance technology, palletisers, depalletisers, automated can end and product handling equipment, unwrappers, destrappers, and process equipment.\nIn order to continue to meet market needs, evolving product line configurations and our customers' expectations, BW Integrated Systems has successfully expanded their \"Best in Class Offerings\" into Robotics, Adaptive Accumulation Systems.
