Afinitas is part of BW Forsyth Partners, LLC, the investment group of global manufacturing and engineering consulting firm Barry-Wehmiller, a $3 billion organization with nearly 12,000 team members, united by a common belief: to use the power of business to build a better world.Job Description:\nAfinitas a company of Barry-Wehmiller is HIRING!\nWe are looking for an Inventory Control Specialis t to join our team in Mediapolis, IA.\nAfinitas is one of the leaders in selling innovative equipment that is used to produce concrete products such as concrete pipes and manholes.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES\nBecome fully acclimated and act as a liaison in inventory tracking system (Infor ERP system) Work to better optimize inventory control procedures and processes.\nEvaluate new inventory and properly create locations.\nCo-manage obsolescence program initiatives.\nManage and lead the parts room window traffic along with the parts room supervisor.\nCreate detailed reports for adjustments as needed for problem solving analytics.\nSeek out opportunities to re-arrange parts locations to optimize flow, efficiency and Team Member safety.\nLead inventory preparation for physical fiscal audit. Delegate tasks to appropriate people and organize in a way to be prepared for auditors.\nOversee the issuing and delivering of parts that are late for current production jobs to operations.\nWork with manufacturing to ensure that parts are readily available on carts in the shop, in the parts room, or other specified place\nWork with appropriate departments to problem-solve chronic inventory discrepancies (ex: operations, engineering, etc.)\nRecord and return parts to inventory that were not utilized in production job kitting. Problem solve reasons for returns.\nProcess Lead\nGuide Parts Room team overall day-to-day operations and tasks with supervisor. (‘Plan for the Day’ method with successful staffing plan execution, cross-training tracking, KPI data collection)\nServe as backup to parts room supervisor when the supervisor is gone. Including, but not limited to, giving direction on tasks needing completion and managing pick list system.\nServe as department liaison on all job duties and tasks. (Shipping, Receiving, Order Picker, Inventory Control)\nSECONDARY TASKS (as needed) AND JOB TASK PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS:\nCheck in packages received by matching items with packing lists\nDeliver received packages to appropriate people if applicable\nPut away received ‘Stock Orders’\nComplete receiver transaction in ‘Infor’ ERP system\nVerify correct items to ship\nPhysically package parts\nCreate shippers in ‘Infor’ ERP system\nEnter information into UPS Online computer for order shipping\nIdentify and pull parts to prepare for shipping\nAll other duties as assigned.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nMust have relevant experience with Inventory Control Processes including use of ERP systems, cycle count programs and audit prep readiness.\nAbility to communicate effectively with Materials Department, other company departments, and suppliers to ensure efficient, timely ordering habits.\nAbility to work well in a team environment as well as give direction to Team Members through effective and respectful methods of communication\nProficient with computers (especially Microsoft Office, Excel) and ERP systems.\nAbility to comply with all work-related deadlines and work overtime when required by the situation.\nAbility to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; able to handle shifting priorities and deadlines; able to properly prioritize.\nAttention to detail\nHave good housekeeping and strict adherence to safety.\nTake personal ownership and pride for the quality of work.\nWilling to assist in other areas as needed\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nWorks in a plant/manufacturing environment that involves the use of industrial machinery and chemicals.
