Afinitas is part of BW Forsyth Partners, LLC, the investment group of global manufacturing and engineering consulting firm Barry-Wehmiller, a $3 billion organization with nearly 12,000 team members, united by a common belief: to use the power of business to build a better world.Job Description:\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES\nThis position will be a hands-on technical position in support of CNC based manufacturing, Jig/Fixture design and QRE machines.\nResponsible for the scheduling and nesting of the laser system as well as first level programing and maintenance tasks.\nResponsible for technical direction and support for all shifts for all the Laser and Break Department to include interactions with Engineering and equipment vendors on Nesting, programming, maintenance and troubleshooting.\nProvide Jig/Fixture new build and Maintenance support for full site.\nSet up and operate Trumpf Fiber Laser and Trumpf Press Brake.\nInterpret moderately complex drawings, route sheets, specifications, and instructions to determine methods and techniques to be applied.\nDrafts detail drawing or sketch for drafting room completion or to request parts fabrication by site.\nPrepares parts sketches and writes work orders and purchase requests to be furnished by outside contractors.\nBe on forefront of consumables replacement and maintenance of key equipment (Laser/Brake/QRE)\nCalculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers\nAbility to lead, guide, and mentor new hires and training in this area\nOperation of light, medium, and heavy equipment including fork truck, front end loader and skid loader.\nMeasure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers\nDetect defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to the leader describing them in accurate detail to ensure proper corrective actions\nComplete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements\nActively participate in team meetings to communicate and help resolve any cost, quality, or production issues; understand and apply engineering change request process\nPerform all work in accordance with established safety procedures\nMaintain equipment and work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.\nOther duties as assigned\nQUALIFICATIONS\n5+ years of CNC programing experience\n1+ years of laser and press brake experience minimum, 3yr preferred.\n1+ years of experience with part nesting software and/or work order management for CNC work centers, 2yrs preferred\n2+ yrs experience with Jig/Fixture design\nBasic knowledge or ability to learn PLC programing.\nExperience/knowledge in the basic of Laser and Brake operation, maintenance and troubleshooting\nKnowledge of Trumpf Equipment and Software a plus\nAbility to understand and interpret moderately complex blueprints, specifications, and machined part prints\nStrong experience with part fabrication.\nAbility to be versatile and flexible in running open machines.\nStrong verbal and written interpersonal/communication skills required\nExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail\nAbility to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities\nAbility to work individually as well as in a team environment\nAbility to obtain and operate mobile equipment needed to perform essential functions\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nWorks in a plant/manufacturing environment that involves the use of industrial machinery and chemicals.
