By blending people-centric leadership with disciplined operational strategies and purpose-driven growth, Barry-Wehmiller has become a $3 billion organization with nearly 12,000 team members united by a common belief: to use the power of business to build a better world.Job Description:\nUnder minimal supervision, perform engineering duties in the design or alteration of machines, sections, systems, units, or parts with consideration of manufacturing feasibility, cost, and operation in support of the business segment. Applies engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair and test machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nCreate concepts for new machine functions.\nCreate technical solutions and assembly drawings.\nContact to suppliers to clarify functions of their systems.\nSupport purchasing in evaluating offers and suppliers.\nCreate product concept catalogue and specification workbook.\nRead and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.\nConfer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.\nResearch and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.\nSpecify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.\nInvestigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.\nPerforms work under minimal supervision.\nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:\nBachelor’s degree (4-year) in Mechanical Engineering/BSME required.\n5+ years’ experience in manufacturing in an engineering capacity.\nExperience in hygiene, personal care, or roll converting industry knowledge a plus.\nMinimum of three years design engineer experience with a strong knowledge of CAD.\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:\nSolid Works experience with high functionality\nFirst-hand experience in leading project team and in project management.\nHandle complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.\nPossess comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.\nAble to travel 10%\nCOMPETENCES\nCustomer Focus - Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.\nInstills Trust - Gaining the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.\nDrives Results - Consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances.\nCommunicates Effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.\nOptimizes Work Processes - Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.\nResourcefulness- Adapts to changing circumstances and priorities; effectively copes with unexpected interruptions, delays, and demands.\nLEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY\nThis position does not directly supervise other associates.\nAt Barry-Wehmiller we recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job.
