Afinitas is part of BW Forsyth Partners, LLC, the investment group of global manufacturing and engineering consulting firm Barry-Wehmiller, a $3 billion organization with nearly 12,000 team members, united by a common belief: to use the power of business to build a better world.Job Description:\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES\nLeads and develops the Technical Solutions team and is accountable for team performance and results.\nServes as a player-coach, personally supporting quotations and technical-commercial projects while providing direction to the team.\nLeads the quoting process and ensures proposals accurately reflect customer requirements, equipment scope, costs, pricing, and margins.\nMaintains the quoting system to drive consistent use of standard product configurations, costing, and pricing. Escalates non-standard requirements as appropriate.\nDrives commercial discipline through adherence to established pricing, margin, discount, and approval policies.\nReviews completed project costs and margins to improve future costing, pricing, and quoting assumptions.\nWorks cross-functionally with Sales, Application Engineering, Engineering, Operations, and Finance to resolve technical and commercial requirements.\nSupports customer communication to define requirements, clarify proposals, and address project-related questions.\nMonitors awarded projects through completion and communicates status, changes, and concerns to customers and appropriate internal teams.\nEnsures an accurate and complete technical and commercial handoff of awarded projects to downstream functions.\nDrives continuous improvement, standardization, and cross-training within the global Technical Solutions organization.\nOther duties as assigned\nQUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering with 1-2 years of relevant experience; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or a related field with 3-5 years; or Associate degree with 5-7 years of relevant experience.\nDemonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.\nStrong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand technical equipment and applications.\nAbility to read and understand engineering drawings.\nStrong understanding of costing, pricing, margins, and basic manufacturing principles.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with CRM, ERP, quoting, and similar business systems.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nWorks in a plant/manufacturing environment that involves the use of industrial machinery and chemicals.
