This position provides hands-on engineering experience across a variety of projects, including defense electronics, embedded and digital systems, test equipment, and thermal management and control systems.\nThe intern will work alongside engineers across multiple disciplines and may support projects throughout the design, development, integration, and testing lifecycle. Specific assignments will vary based on current program needs, the intern's experience, and area of study.\nKey Responsibilities:\nAssist in the design, development, integration, and testing of electrical and electronic systems.\nDesign, build, wire, and troubleshoot test fixtures and engineering test equipment.\nSupport testing and debugging of electronic hardware, embedded systems, and system-level assemblies.\nDevelop and execute test plans, procedures, and engineering documentation.\nConduct circuit analysis, simulations, and other engineering analyses to evaluate system performance.\nAssist with embedded systems, microcontrollers, digital signal processing, and related electronics development.\nSupport development and testing of thermal management, power, and control systems.\nDevelop or modify LabVIEW programs and other software used for testing and data acquisition.\nCreate and update engineering drawings and technical documentation.\nParticipate in design reviews, code reviews, technical meetings, and project discussions.\nResearch emerging technologies and evaluate potential applications for aerospace and defense systems.\nCollaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, systems, and other engineering disciplines to support project requirements.\nAssist with project logistics, laboratory activities, and test preparation.\nProvide updates on assigned tasks and project progress.\nLearn and apply industry-standard engineering tools, processes, and methodologies.\nQualifications:\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field.\nSophomore, junior, senior, or graduate-level student preferred.\nFoundational understanding of electrical engineering principles, circuit analysis, and electronic systems.\nKnowledge or coursework related to embedded systems, microcontrollers, digital signal processing, or electronics preferred.\nExperience with engineering analysis and simulation tools such as SPICE, MATLAB, or similar software preferred.\nSoftware programming experience is desired.\nLabVIEW experience is preferred.\nExperience with engineering CAD software is preferred.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office products.\nPrevious internship, employment, laboratory, or hands-on project experience is preferred.\nMust be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.\nThis is a paid internship that may be full-time or part-time depending on the academic calendar and candidate availability. Interns may work up to approximately 20 hours per week during the academic semester and up to 40 hours per week during summer break.
