The role involves integrating off-the-shelf and new development efforts, leveraging cloud computing, AI, ML, and cross-domain transfer systems to enhance mission-focused big data analytics tools and micro-service development. The position is primarily on-site in Bethesda, MD, with a flexible schedule and occasional remote work.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n Work with a team of system integration engineers to successfully deploy release candidates to production environment.\nParticipate in test, staging, and production deployment.\nIntegrate container-based Appian using Kubernetes, Rancher, Helm, and other DevOpsSec integration tools.\nAssist in the maintenance of services and procedures for a big data pipeline including Kafka, Elasticsearch, and in-house Python/Java microservices running on Kubernetes.\nMonitor automated system integration tests to identify failed modules and components.\nManage individual project priorities, deliverables, and deadlines.\nFoster an environment of collaboration with team members to provide quality service and product to the customer.\nRequired Qualifications\n Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.\nExperience with Appian.\nExperience with containerization.\nDevelopment and/or scripting experience, especially Python and Bash.\nExperience with DevOps practices and tools including Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools and practices, especially Gitlab or Jenkins.\nExperience with Agile practices.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nEnthusiastic with the ability to work well on a team and a self-starter who can work independently.\nPreferred Qualifications\n Experience with systems at scale.\nExperience with Kafka or other message passing systems.\nExperience on a production/enterprise system.\nCloud infrastructure experience.\nAppian certification.\nExperience with Java, Kubernetes monitoring (e.g., Prometheus/Grafana), Appian integration with PostgreSQL or other DBs, SALT for deployment automation, GraphQL, Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Logstash (specifically admin experience), Helm and Helmfile.\nPossess at least one DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or higher certification, e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, Security+ CE, SSCP, CISSP (or Associate).\nAbility to obtain Privileged User Account (PUA) certification per DoD 8570 policy.\nRequired Education and Experience Equivalency\n Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of experience.\nMasters with 6+ years of experience.\nRequired Certifications\n DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or higher certification (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, Security+ CE, SSCP, CISSP or Associate).\nAbility to obtain Privileged User Account (PUA) certification per DoD 8570 policy.\nRequired Security Clearance\n Active Top Secret/SCI\nEqual Employment Opportunity\n Base-2 Solutions is an equal opportunity employer.
