The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle database administration, specifically Oracle 19c, with proven experience in both on-premises and AWS RDS environments. The role includes database creation, schema design and implementation, performance tuning, and establishing robust backup and restore procedures to ensure data integrity and availability. The candidate will work closely with Java developers to optimize database interactions, support SAP Business Intelligence reporting requirements, and ensure seamless integration with Apache Solr indexing processes. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues in production environments, and strong documentation skills.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n Create and manage Oracle 19c databases in both on-premises and AWS RDS environments.\nDesign and implement database schemas to support application requirements.\nPerform database performance tuning and optimization.\nExecute patch management and version upgrades for Oracle databases.\nEstablish and maintain robust backup and restore procedures.\nImplement Oracle database security hardening measures.\nEnsure data integrity and availability across all environments.\nDevelop and test disaster recovery plans.\nOptimize database interactions with Java application components.\nSupport SAP Business Intelligence reporting requirements and queries.\nEnsure seamless integration with Apache Solr indexing processes.\nImplement compliance controls for government systems (FISMA, FedRAMP, or similar).\nDeploy and maintain database monitoring tools.\nTroubleshoot complex database issues in production environments.\nCreate and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.\nRequired Qualifications\n Experience administering Oracle 19c databases in production environments.\nExperience with Oracle database administration in both on-premises and AWS RDS environments.\nExperience designing and implementing database schemas for enterprise applications.\nExperience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.\nExperience establishing and maintaining backup and restore procedures for Oracle databases.\nExperience implementing Oracle database security hardening measures.\nExperience with patch management and version upgrades for Oracle databases.\nExperience optimizing database interactions with Java applications.\nExperience integrating databases with search/indexing platforms (Apache Solr experience preferred).\nExperience troubleshooting complex database issues in production environments.\nExperience implementing compliance controls for government systems (FISMA, FedRAMP, or similar frameworks).\nExperience deploying and maintaining database monitoring tools.\nExperience in creating and maintaining technical documentation for database systems.\nPreferred Qualifications\n Plan and execute database migration strategies from on-premises VMware to AWS RDS.\nExperience supporting Business Intelligence reporting requirements (SAP Business Intelligence preferred).\nRequired Education and Experience Equivalency\n Bachelor's degree with 9 years of experience.\nMaster's degree with 7 years of experience.\nNo degree with 13+ years of experience.\nRequired Certifications\n None specified.\nRequired Security Clearance\n Active Top Secret/SCI with CI Polygraph\nEqual Employment Opportunity\n Base-2 Solutions is an equal opportunity employer.
