The role is primarily performed on-site in Bethesda, MD, with occasional remote work permitted for some tasks.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n Deploy, triage, and maintain a production big data pipeline built on Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka.\nEnhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation to accelerate development and improve reliability.\nDesign and support scalable, redundant infrastructure across physical and virtual environments.\nUse Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments for new features and evolving requirements.\nPartner with Systems Engineers to architect solutions for new capabilities.\nContribute technical input to engineering documentation, diagrams, and models.\nParticipate in Agile release planning, scrums, design sessions, bug triage, and related team activities.\nCollaborate with developers, software integrators, system administrators, systems engineering, architecture, development, security, operations, and integration teams.\nRequired Qualifications\n Relevant experience meeting an applicable education and experience pathway in the equivalency section.\nStrong Linux proficiency, specifically including knowledge of sysctls for Kubernetes environments and experience with FApolicyd and SELinux.\nHands-on experience with containers and Kubernetes, including Ingress/Gateway API, Helm chart design and build, pod disruption budgets, affinity and anti-affinity rules, external-secrets, ArgoCD, cert-manager, and ECK (Elasticsearch).\nExperience with GitLab pipeline development, including integration of GitLab CI/CD components, code quality reports, and coverage and test reports.\nFamiliarity with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana.\nDemonstrated success working in cross-functional engineering environments.\nPreferred Qualifications\n Experience with systems at scale.\nExperience or knowledge of key Agile processes and techniques.\nExperience with development using Bash, PowerShell, SALT, Python, Groovy, or Java.\nExperience supporting an enterprise or production system.\nExperience with Kafka or other message-passing systems, including AMQP and JMS.\nExperience with Kubernetes monitoring, including Prometheus and Grafana.\nExperience with GPU-based Kubernetes.\nExperience with SALT for deployment automation.\nExperience with Nexus.\nRequired Education and Experience Equivalency\n Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience.\nMaster's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience.\nEquivalent relevant experience in lieu of a degree.\nRequired Certifications\n At least one DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or higher certification, such as CCNA Security, CySA+, Security+ CE, SSCP, or CISSP (or Associate).\nAbility to obtain Privileged User Account (PUA) certification per DoD 8570 policy.\nRequired Security Clearance\n Active Top Secret/SCI\nEqual Employment Opportunity\n Base-2 Solutions is an equal opportunity employer.
