The successful candidate will develop, maintain, and improve the IT services catalog and provide continuous process improvement analysis in support of those services. This is an on-site position.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n Develop and maintain a strategic communications plan for the 844th Communications Group aligned with Air Force District of Washington goals.\nDevelop and implement communication strategies that support 844th Communications Group operations and policy objectives.\nCoordinate messaging across squadrons, bases, and departments to ensure consistency in internal and external communications.\nAdvise leadership on communication best practices and strategic messaging.\nEnsure 844th Communications Group alignment with Department of the Air Force information technology goals by integrating communication efforts with broader military strategies.\nTrain personnel on effective communication techniques.\nEstablish a consistent on-site presence within the Base Communications Squadrons, engaging with unit leadership to anticipate mission impacts, communicate program capabilities, and strengthen the program's partnership with the Air Force.\nGuide and assist 844th Communications Group and squadron commanders in developing executive tours, mission briefs, and flyers for distinguished visitors.\nAssist the User Experience Manager in delivering User Experience strategic initiatives and projects.\nEnsure communications plans support the customer experience and help the organization meet customer expectations and goals.\nDevelop and maintain a newsletter aimed at increasing visibility and promoting the effective use of IT services in the Air Force National Capital Region.\nDevelop Notifications to Airmen for Air Force National Capital Region users to understand interruptions or changes to existing IT service offerings.\nDevelop flyers or advertisements to assist communications squadron commanders with projects or changes to existing IT services.\nAs a member of the Operations Fusion Team, respond to short-notice tasks or requests for information and organize or establish meetings.\nServe as direct strategic counsel to the commander on high-visibility IT operations, synthesizing complex operational data to accelerate and drive executive decision-making across the Air Force National Capital Region.\nArchitect and deliver authoritative, data-centric briefings, white papers, and executive summaries tailored for General Officers, Senior Executive Service personnel, and senior Air Force National Capital Region and Secretary of the Air Force leadership to shape enterprise IT posture and strategic policy.\nSpearhead critical intelligence and operational exchange between the 844th Communications Group, its operational squadrons, and mission partners, including Headquarters Air Force, the 89th Airlift Wing, Air Force District of Washington, the 316th Wing, and the 11th Wing.\nTranslate raw IT performance data and concepts into recommended options or actions for senior leaders.\nChampion Quality of Service and IT modernization initiatives by forging and managing strategic partnerships with cyber, acquisition, and infrastructure authorities, including 16th Air Force, the 688th and 67th Cyberspace Wings, the Cyberspace Capabilities Center, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Defense Information Systems Agency, and Air Force District of Washington/A6.\nRequired Qualifications\n Relevant experience meeting an applicable education and experience pathway in the equivalency section.\nFamiliarity with defense communication strategies, operational security, and public affairs through military or government experience.\nAbility to develop and execute long-term communication plans aligned with military objectives.\nKnowledge of online communication platforms and cybersecurity considerations.\nAbility to coordinate messaging across departments and work with senior officials.\nStrong organizational skills.\nExcellent written and oral communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\n A degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field; advanced degrees can be beneficial.\nExperience managing sensitive information and responding to high-pressure situations, including crisis communication.\nStrong background in public affairs or public relations.\nStrong understanding of press engagement, briefing protocols, and public messaging.\n8+ years of military experience.\nExperience working in the Air Force National Capital Region.\nCredentials like the Strategic Communication Management Professional (SCMP) or Communication Management Professional (CMP) can enhance credibility.\nRequired Education and Experience Equivalency\n Bachelor of Science degree with 8+ years of prior relevant experience.\nMaster's degree with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.\nAdditional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.\nRequired Certifications\n None specified.\nRequired Security Clearance\n Active Secret\nEqual Employment Opportunity\n Base-2 Solutions is an equal opportunity employer.
