The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in enterprise Java application development and a proven track record of upgrading complex software infrastructures in secure, regulated environments. The role involves planning and executing upgrades across the technology stack, including Apache Solr with ZooKeeper, Apache Tomcat, Apache Directory Studio, and Java/Python components running on Windows-based VMware infrastructure. Strong knowledge of Oracle 19c database integration, SAP Business Intelligence reporting frameworks, secure coding practices, and upgrading and migrating Solr index data is essential. Experience with PrimeFaces UI framework is a plus. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including security, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless upgrades with minimal operational disruption.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n Plan and execute technology stack upgrades for enterprise Java applications in secure government environments.\nDevelop and maintain Java/Python components on Windows-based VMware infrastructure.\nModernize legacy application code to current standards and best practices.\nImplement secure coding practices in compliance with government security requirements.\nUpgrade Apache Solr clusters with ZooKeeper coordination.\nMigrate and optimize Solr index data during version upgrades.\nManage Apache Tomcat application server configurations and deployments.\nIntegrate applications with Oracle 19c database systems.\nWork with Apache Directory Studio for directory services integration.\nSupport SAP Business Intelligence reporting framework integrations.\nCollaborate with security, infrastructure, and business stakeholder teams.\nEnsure minimal operational disruption during system upgrades.\nDocument technical designs, upgrade procedures, and system configurations.\nParticipate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.\nRequired Qualifications\n Expertise in enterprise Java application development on Windows-based VMware infrastructure.\nExpertise with Python.\nExpertise with Apache Solr with ZooKeeper (including upgrading and migrating Solr index data).\nExperience with Apache Tomcat, Apache Directory Studio.\nExperience with Oracle 19c/relational database integration.\nExperience with SAP Business Intelligence reporting frameworks.\nExperience with secure coding practices for government compliance.\nPreferred Qualifications\n Experience with PrimeFaces UI framework.\nRequired Education and Experience Equivalency\n Bachelor's degree with 9 years of experience.\nMaster's degree with 7 years of experience.\nNo degree with 13+.\nRequired Certifications\n None specified.\nRequired Security Clearance\n Active Top Secret/SCI with CI Polygraph\nEqual Employment Opportunity\n Base-2 Solutions is an equal opportunity employer.
