The role involves performing and managing systems engineering tasks including requirements analysis, system design, integration, testing, and documentation. The position also includes scrum master responsibilities to lead a software development team, manage risks, and drive process improvements. Work is primarily on-site in Bethesda, MD with some flexible remote work possible.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n Perform and manage systems engineering activities such as feature and requirements analysis, design, implementation planning, integration and test, sustainment, documentation, deployment, and system assessment.\nExecute systems engineering tasks within Agile sprints and releases, supporting sprint and release planning and contributing to work tickets and program documentation.\nSupport and employ Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches in coordination with the Lead Systems Engineer and team members.\nDefine processes for technical platforms, system specifications, and hardware/software compatibility parameters.\nAssist in establishing systems engineering processes and tools for analysis, problem diagnosis, solution design, integration and test preparation, risk assessment, and mitigation planning.\nManage a scrum team performing development activities across microservices and support system architectures.\nRequired Qualifications\n Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience with 12+ years in software development, systems engineering, or related field.\nExperience creating design packages and workflows.\nExperience writing technical solutions and whitepapers.\nExperience implementing Agile processes and techniques.\nExperience facilitating scrum activities including Planning, Retrospective, Grooming, and Review/Demo.\nExperience with Gitlab workflow, JIRA, Confluence, or similar collaboration tools.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nFamiliarity with MBSE approaches and tools or experience with similar frameworks.\nPreferred Qualifications\n Software development experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, and React.\nExperience with database systems, search engines, model view controller (MVC) frameworks, and web applications.\nExperience with Red Hat, CentOS, or Oracle Linux.\nExperience with big data applications.\nScaled Agile Framework certification (SAFe Agilist or equivalent).\nFamiliarity with continuous integration/continuous development tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo.\nRequired Education and Experience Equivalency\n Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field with 12+ years in software development, systems engineering, or related field.\nRequired Certifications\n None specified.\nRequired Security Clearance\n Active Top Secret/SCI\nEqual Employment Opportunity\n Base-2 Solutions is an equal opportunity employer.
