This position develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems, including processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, large data set manipulation, real-time systems, and business management information systems. The Software Engineer will work independently or as part of a team to design, code, test, debug, and improve software solutions based on documented requirements.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.\nDesign and code new software or modify existing software to add new features.\nDebug existing software and correct defects.\nIntegrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.\nDevelop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.\nProvide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.\nDevelop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards.\nAssist with developing and executing test procedures for software components.\nWrite or review software and system documentation.\nDevelop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, conferring with users or system engineers, analyzing systems flow and data usage, and investigating problem areas.\nServe as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on a particular project.\nModify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance.\nDesign, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.\nDesign or implement complex database or data repository interfaces and queries.\nRequired Qualifications\n Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.\nSeven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.\nStrong Java experience.\nExperience with MapReduce.\nCloud experience.\nExperience with distributed scalable Big Data Store (NoSQL) technologies such as HBase, CloudBase/Accumulo, Big Table, or similar.\nExperience with the Map Reduce programming model and technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig, or similar.\nExperience with the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS).\nExperience with serialization technologies such as JSON and/or BSON.\nRequired Education and Experience Equivalency\n High School Diploma/GED with 11 years of experience.\nAssociates Degree with 11 years of experience.\nBachelors' Degree with 7 years of experience.\nMasters' Degree with 7 years of experience.\nPhD with 7 years of experience.\nRequired Certifications\n None specified.\nRequired Security Clearance\n Active TS/SCI with Full Scope
