We're rebuilding it.\nABOUT THE TEAM\nAI agents are starting to transact: opening accounts, buying services, moving money on behalf of the businesses and people behind them. Every one of those transactions has a counterparty asking the question banks have always asked: who am I dealing with, and can I trust them? Today's identity infrastructure wasn't built to answer it at agent speed.\nThe Agentic Economy team is extending Baselayer's business graph into the trust layer for agentic commerce: verifiable credentials that bind an agent to the verified business and human behind it, a registry counterparties can query in real time, and verification APIs that plug into the networks, platforms, and protocols where agent transactions happen.\nWe run like a startup inside a startup: a small senior team led by our GM of Agentic Economy, working directly with payment networks, banks, wallet providers, and agent platforms. The category is being defined right now; the standards, seats, and infrastructure decisions of the next 18 months will be consequential for a decade.\nABOUT THE ROLE\nWe are looking for a Finance & Operations Analyst to be the Swiss Army knife of our Operations & Finance team. You will own the numbers - month-end close, accounting, and FP&A - and you will also own smaller tasks that keep a fast-growing startup running, from office logistics to getting a new teammate's laptop set up.\nThis is a highly visible role reporting directly to the Head of Operations & Finance. You will see the entire business: how revenue is recognized, where money goes, what it costs to grow, and where the process is still held together with duct tape. Your job is to close the books accurately, build the reporting leadership relies on, and then go fix the duct tape.\nThis is not a role for someone who wants a narrow lane. We are looking for someone who is willing to get their hands dirty, moves fast, and takes as much pride in a clean reconciliation as in unblocking a teammate on a Friday afternoon.\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\nFP&A & Reporting\nTrack and analyze unit economics and SaaS metrics - ARR, gross margin, NDR, burn multiple, and more\nBuild and maintain the operating model, budget vs. actuals, and rolling cash forecast\nProduce recurring management and board-level reporting on revenue, burn, runway, and departmental spend\nTurn ambiguous questions into clear analysis: what is this costing us, what is driving the variance, and what should we do about it\nBusiness Operations\nImprove and automate the finance stack - billing, invoicing, expense management, and procurement\nOwn vendor and software spend management, including renewals and contracts\nSupport compliance and corporate housekeeping in partnership with Legal and Compliance including annual SOC2, penetration testing, business insurance and more\nSupport HR and Recruiting with on/off-boarding, assisting new employees, and general support requests\nWork with BI tooling to provide valuable insights to internal key players\nAccounting & Month-End Close\nAssist with the month-end close process end to end - journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and account reconciliations\nManage account mapping for credit card payments and billing\nPartner with our outside accountants and tax advisors on close support, year-end, and compliance filings\nOffice & Internal Support\nKeep the office running - supplies, vendors, seating, events, and the day-to-day logistics of an in-person team\nServe as first-line internal helpdesk: laptop setup, SaaS provisioning and access, and basic IT troubleshooting for new hires and the broader team\nJump on ad-hoc projects across the business wherever the need is greatest\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS\n1 to 3 years of experience in accounting, FP&A, finance, or business operations\nHands-on experience supporting a month-end close, including reconciliations and journal entries\nHighly advanced Microsoft Excel - this is a must\nTech savvy and quick to pick up new systems, with a bias toward automating manual work\nExceptional attention to detail and a high bar for accuracy\nWilling to get your hands dirty and take on tasks that might operate outside a job description\nWHAT SETS YOU APART\nStartup experience, ideally at an early-stage company where you built process rather than inherited it\nHands-on experience with QuickBooks or a similar accounting system\nSQL skills and experience with BI tools; Metabase is a plus\nExperience with billing, expense management, or procurement tooling\nYou are proactive, self-directed, and comfortable operating without detailed instructions\nYou are a true Swiss Army knife - you would rather own ten things well than one thing narrowly\nYou want to be foundational and help build something that lasts\nWORK LOCATION\nBased in NYC; 5 days a week\nCOMPENSATION\nSalary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 + Bonus + Equity\nBENEFITS\nTime off when you need it: Flexible PTO so you can recharge without red tape\nIn-person energy: We're based in NYC and meet in the office 5 days a week\nCompetitive compensation: We pay well and back it with equity.
