You will work across cloud infrastructure, virtualization, deployment automation, and observability to ensure our systems remain reliable, performant, and scalable as Base grows.\nAt Base, you will have the opportunity to tackle real-world infrastructure challenges, investigate complex production issues, and improve how engineering teams deploy and operate software.\nWHAT YOU DO\nCloud Infrastructure: Operate, maintain, and optimize cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring the availability, performance, and scalability of production environments.\n\nInfrastructure & Virtualization: Manage and troubleshoot infrastructure across containerized and virtualized environments, including Docker, Kubernetes, and virtual machines (VMs).\n\nSystem Performance & Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve complex infrastructure issues involving Linux systems, web servers, networking, resource utilization, and application performance. Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term improvements.\n\nMonitoring & Observability: Build, maintain, and improve monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability systems to provide visibility into system health and help detect and resolve incidents effectively.\n\nCI/CD & Deployment Automation: Develop and maintain automated build, deployment, and release workflows using CI/CD tools and GitOps practices to improve delivery speed, consistency, and reliability.\n\nInfrastructure Automation & Optimization: Identify opportunities to automate repetitive operational tasks, optimize infrastructure utilization, and improve operational efficiency.\n\nReliability & Security: Improve system availability, resilience, and security through infrastructure hardening, access control, backup and recovery practices, and proactive incident prevention.\n\nEngineering Collaboration: Work closely with Software Engineers and other technical teams to improve deployment processes, production readiness, and the reliability of Base’s products.\n\nWHO YOU ARE\nHave hands-on experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, System Administration, or a related technical role.\n\nHave a solid understanding of Linux systems, including system administration, resource management, and troubleshooting.\n\nUnderstand networking fundamentals and web server technologies such as Apache, with the ability to investigate infrastructure-level performance issues.\n\nHave practical experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and understand core cloud concepts such as compute, networking, storage, and access management.\n\nHave experience operating containerized or virtualized environments, including Docker, Kubernetes, and/or virtual machines.\n\nUnderstand monitoring, logging, and observability principles, with experience using relevant tools to monitor system health and troubleshoot production issues.\n\nHave experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows.
