Behind every product is a platform designed to scale, evolve and empower engineering teams to build faster and better.\nAs our ecosystem continues to grow, we‘re looking for engineers who are passionate about building the core technologies that power every product across Base.\nIf you enjoy solving challenging engineering problems, designing scalable systems, and building technology that thousands of companies rely on every day, we‘d love to meet you.\nWHAT YOU DO\nAs a Software Engineer in our Platform team, you‘ll build and maintain the core services that serve as the backbone of the entire Base ecosystem.\nYour responsibilities include:\nDesign, develop and maintain core platform services that support every product at Base.\nBuild high-performance infrastructure software such as: Search Engine; Digital Signature Service; Platform-wide Logging & Observability Platform (ELK Stack / Kibana); File Storage & Video Processing Services\nBuild software capable of operating across multiple cloud environments with high scalability, reliability and performance.\nImprove platform performance, system availability and developer productivity through reusable platform capabilities.\nDesign and optimize distributed systems capable of handling large-scale traffic and data workloads.\nCollaborate closely with product engineers and infrastructure teams to provide reliable platform services for the entire engineering organization.\nContinuously improve system architecture, engineering standards and software quality.\nThis is NOT a DevOps or Cloud Operations role. You will spend most of your time designing and writing production-grade software that powers our products, rather than operating infrastructure.\nWHO YOU ARE\nWe‘re looking for engineers who love building systems that other engineers depend on. You are likely a great fit if you have:\nStrong understanding of Linux/Unix systems and Shell scripting.\nProfessional experience with at least one backend programming language: PHP; Java; Python; Node.js\nSolid knowledge of Software Design, Object-Oriented Programming and Backend Architecture.\nExperience working with Docker, containerization and microservice architecture.\nFamiliarity with cloud-native application development and deploying software on cloud platforms.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for building scalable systems.\nNice to Have\nExperience working with one or more cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure or other public/private cloud environments.\nExperience designing software that operates across multiple cloud environments (multi-cloud or hybrid cloud).\nExperience building infrastructure services, platform engineering tools or internal developer platforms.\nExperience working with distributed systems or high-traffic applications.\nKnowledge of monitoring, logging and observability platforms such as ELK, Kibana, Prometheus or Grafana.\nWHAT YOU CAN GET\nBuild at Scale\nWork on the core platform
