Become part of our team and develop the future with us - in a global team that embraces diversity and equal opportunities.\nYour main responsibilities:\nAs a Master Data Automation Developer, you will work on innovative solutions that enhance data quality, streamline operations, and reduce manual effort within BASF's planning systems and digital infrastructure.\nDevelop, maintain, and continuously improve automated solutions for planning-relevant master data across SAP and OMP systems, enhancing data quality, process reliability, and operational efficiency.\nDesign and implement AI-enabled data quality capabilities, including rules, validations, monitoring, automated checks, inconsistency detection, and recommendations for corrective action.\nAnalyze, troubleshoot, and resolve defects and incidents in master data applications and mass maintenance tools, conducting root cause analysis and driving continuous improvements.\nOperate, maintain, and enhance technical platforms and infrastructure components for master data management, including scripts and utilities that automate recurring operational tasks.\nApply best practices in software development, automation, data quality, and system monitoring to ensure stable, scalable, and efficient solutions.\nCollaborate with business experts, developers, and product teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.\nEducational Background:\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.\n3-5 years of relevant professional experience in software, data, or platform engineering roles.\nTechnical Skills & Experience:\nBasic programming experience in ABAP is preferred. Alternatively, experience in Python, Go, Rust, C++, C#, or comparable programming languages.\nBasic understanding of SAP master data and data quality; exposure to SAP S/4HANA is beneficial.\nBasic understanding of enterprise systems, data management, and software development principles.\nExposure to SAP integration concepts such as REST APIs, RFCs, IDocs, or similar interface technologies is advantageous.\nExperience with version control systems such as Git is a plus.\nAbility to develop scripts, utilities, or small applications to automate operational and infrastructure-related tasks.\nExposure to DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, or infrastructure automation is advantageous.\nKnowledge of Supply Chain Planning processes (e.g., demand planning, supply planning, S&OP, inventory management) is considered an advantage.\nUnderstanding of planning-relevant master data and its role in enabling effective Supply Chain Planning and decision-making is required.\nAbility to analyze technical issues and support incident resolution in collaboration with global teams.\nGeneral Capabilities:\nStrong analytical and problem-solving mindset.\nAbility to learn new technologies and business processes quickly.\nStructured and detail-oriented way of working with a focus on data quality and reliability.\nGood communication skills and ability to collaborate in an international and multicultural environment.\nProactive attitude with a willingness to take ownership of assigned topics.\nStrong team player with a product-oriented mindset.\nFluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.\nWHAT WE OFFER\nBe part of a global leader in digital transformation, working in a vibrant Digital Hub that values innovation, agility, and cross-functional collaboration.
