Your primary focus will be on designing, developing, and operating APIs that connect the Data Catalog with other data and AI platforms.\nResponsibilities and Key Outcomes\nDevelop, maintain and support backend APIs in Python to enable scalable integrations between different systems\nDefine and implement API standards, authentication mechanisms, versioning strategies, and observability capabilities to ensure reliable and secure data access\nBuild and improve CI/CD pipelines and release procedures for the APIs and data-related automation components, with emphasis on safe deployments, environment promotion and rollbacks\nContribute to the evaluation and integration of AI-enabled services and capabilities that improve metadata management, searchability, and user experience within the data ecosystem\nJob Requirements\nBachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar\nStrong Python development experience, specifically with Django and Django REST Framework, building production-grade RESTful APIs\nSolid understanding of API design principles, including OpenAPI specifications, authentication and authorization (OAuth2, OpenID Connect), API versioning, rate limiting, and monitoring\nStrong problem-solving mindset and ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment\nFluent English, both written and spoken\nBASF has been present in Malaysia since 1989, and operates a manufacturing plant in Pasir Gudang, Johor.
