We help our customers to be even more successful with our knowledge of precious and base metals and our passion for innovation.\nWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT\nServing as the primary technical expert for FCC catalyst applications at customer sites, providing hands-on technical support, troubleshooting, unit optimization, performance improvement, and advising refinery operations and technical teams on catalyst selection and operational strategy.\nConducting FCC technical evaluations, simulations, and modeling to support recommendations, customer proposals, and performance improvement initiatives.\nOwning full P&L responsibility for assigned FCC accounts, including volume, margin, pricing, receivables, sales forecasting, CRM management, and account planning.\nDeveloping and executing account strategies aligned with BASF’s FCC business objectives, including pricing, contract negotiations, and commercial terms with refinery customers.\nIdentifying and capturing new FCC business opportunities within existing and new refinery accounts, expanding account penetration through relationship mapping across technical and commercial stakeholders, and positioning BASF’s FCC catalyst portfolio to maximize market share in the region.\nBuilding strong relationships with refinery engineers, operations teams, and decision-makers, acting as the interface between customers and internal BASF technical, R&D, and business teams, and representing BASF in customer meetings, technical reviews, and industry engagements.\nLocation: Fully remote role, ideally based in Southern Europe or the Mediterranean region to ensure proximity to key refinery customers.\nTerritory: Responsible for refinery accounts across Southern Europe and the Mediterranean area, with a dedicated focus on FCC catalyst applications.\nTravel: Expected travel of approximately 30-50% to visit customer sites, support technical discussions, and strengthen business relationships across the assigned region.\nWHAT YOU OFFER\nDegree (BSc/MSc/PhD) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline.\nStrong experience in refining with deep expertise in FCC operations and catalysts (mandatory).\nProven track record in a customer-facing FCC technical or commercial role.\nAbility to perform FCC process analysis, modeling, and technical evaluations.\nExperience managing multiple refinery accounts in an international environment.\nStrong commercial mindset with demonstrated success in pricing and contract negotiations.\nFamiliarity with Southern Europe / Mediterranean refining landscape.\nExpertise in FCC technology and refinery processes.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving capabilities and strategic thinking.\nExcellent stakeholder management and communication skills.\nAbility to operate independently in a remote, regional role.\nWHAT WE OFFER\nCCNL (National Chemical Collective Agreement).\nGross annual salary (RAL) between €70,000 and €85,000, to be assessed based on the candidate’s skills and relevant experience.\nVariable bonus.\nCorporate welfare program.\nCompany car for both business and personal use.\nHigh-impact regional role focused purely on FCC catalysts.\nCombination of technical leadership and commercial ownership.\nFlexible remote working within Southern Europe.\nOpportunity to work with leading refinery customers in the region.\nHOW TO REACH US\nDo you have questions about the selection process or the position?
