This role will report directly to the Senior EHS Manager - Manufacturing and will be responsible for a wide range of EHS duties to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\n1. Safety Management:\nDevelop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs to ensure a safe working environment at the metals manufacturing plant.\nConduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.\nLead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.\nProvide safety training and education to employees at all levels, promoting a strong safety culture.\n2. Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics:\nConduct industrial hygiene studies and readings to determine hazardous exposure to employees.\nPerform ergonomics studies to improve workplace design and reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders.\nDevelop white papers and business case studies with Return on Investment (ROI) for improvements in engineered controls, PPE, etc.\n3. Environmental Compliance:\nEnsure compliance with environmental regulations, including hazardous waste disposal and air quality management.\nManage hazardous waste disposal and reporting in accordance with RCRA requirements.\nOversee air emissions monitoring and reporting to ensure compliance with Title V permits.\nDevelop and implement environmental management systems and policies.\n4. Program Management and Development:\nMaintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.\nMonitor and report on EHS performance metrics and trends.\nCollaborate with plant management to implement best practices and standardize EHS processes across the plant.\n5. Training and Development:\nDesign and deliver EHS training programs for employees and management.\nEnsure that all employees are adequately trained on EHS policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.\n6. Leadership and Collaboration:\nFoster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across the manufacturing plant.\nAct as a subject matter expert and provide guidance and support to plant management on EHS matters.\nInfluence and drive change to improve safety and environmental performance.\n7. Continuous Improvement:\nIdentify opportunities for improving environmental performance and sustainability.\nImplement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance environmental compliance and safety performance.\nConduct regular reviews of EHS programs and suggest necessary adjustments based on findings.\nEXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:\nMinimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field (or equivalent experience).\nMinimum of 3-5 years of experience in EHS management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in metals or similar industries.\nKnowledge of industrial hygiene principles and ergonomics.\nExperience in supporting safety programs and business case studies with ROI.\nExcellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.\nAbility to work collaboratively with various departments and external stakeholders.\nMust possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.\nOngoing verification of driving eligibility will be conducted to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.\nMust be at least 21 years old to qualify for this position.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nCertified Safety Professional (CSP) or other relevant EHS certifications.\nExperience with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 standards.\nMaster’s degree in a related field.\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY: \nFrequent:\nDevelop and manage safety programs to ensure a safe working environment at the metals manufacturing plant.\nConduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.\nLead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.\nProvide safety training and education to employees at all levels, promoting a strong safety culture.\nConduct industrial hygiene studies and readings to determine hazardous exposure to employees.\nPerform ergonomics studies to improve workplace design and reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders.\nDevelop white papers and business case studies with Return on Investment (ROI) for improvements in engineered controls, PPE, etc.\nEnsure compliance with environmental regulations, including hazardous waste disposal and air quality management.\nManage hazardous waste disposal and reporting in accordance with RCRA requirements.\nOversee air emissions monitoring and reporting to ensure compliance with Title V permits.\nDevelop and implement environmental management systems and policies.\nMonitor and report on EHS performance metrics and trends.\nCollaborate with plant management to implement best practices and standardize EHS processes across the plant.\nInfrequent:\nDevelop and present reports on training effectiveness and compliance metrics.\nParticipate in strategic EHS projects and initiatives aimed at improving sustainability and compliance.\nPrepare for and coordinate external regulatory audits, responding to findings and implementing required corrective actions.\nConduct advanced training sessions and workshops for EHS personnel.\nConduct and lead safety committee meetings.\nReview, evaluate, and develop emergency response procedures for the facility.\nCoordinate training for Emergency Response Personnel.\nIdentify and assess potential health hazards and develop mitigation strategies.\nINDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:\nPerforms tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor.
