Additionally, the role is responsible for merchandise presentation, inventory control, pricing, sales enhancements, staff selection and development, team training and coaching, and customer service experience.\n*Applicants must possess a valid New York State Pistol Permit at the time of application.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nSupports a strong commitment to world class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.\nExecutes all sales plans to meet or exceed financial plans as set by the company. \nOpens and Closes the Store and has responsibility for building keys and alarm codes.\nObtains “Manager on Duty” responsibilities.\nLeads firearm compliance sales standards in the Firearms department to ensure compliance with ATF, state, local laws, company policies and procedures, including 4473, 3310, state and internally required firearm forms.\nLeads firearm safe handling, safety, operations, and customer experience standards including line management and queuing within the firearms department.\nMaintains merchandising of firearms as set by the Corporate Office.\nEnsures all firearms operations related tasks are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with all policies, procedures, and regulations.\nPartners with the Gun Vault Specialist Team to ensure compliance.\nStaffs the Department with “service” oriented associates; participates in interviewing and selection, coordinates training, prepares / approves performance appraisals, recommends merit / promotional increases, prepares weekly work schedules, coaches, and motivates associates to promote positive customer relations and a productive team-oriented work environment.\nOversees firearms compliance coaching and assists with investigations when necessary.\nResolves customer and associate issues.\nCarries out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring & training, planning, assigning and directing work; measuring and evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.\nProvides a legendary experience for every customer, every time by assisting customers in making buying decisions by identifying and evaluating customers' needs, making product recommendations based off this analysis, promoting programs including, but not limited to CLUB Membership, customer feedback surveys and In-Store Pick-up.\nALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED\nEXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:\nMinimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent\nVALID NYS PISTOL PERMIT\nYears of experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in Retail Managementthat includes firearms safe handling practices, skilled in the accurate ID of firearms and ammunition, as well as their classification and mechanical operation.\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY: \nAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, and percentages.\nAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.\nAbility to interpret a variety of other financial, legal, and technical information.\nAbility to read and analyze certain reports.\nAbility to write reports and business correspondence.\nAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from Managers, associates, customers, and the public.\nAbility to conduct meetings and presentations to groups.\nProficiency with PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, data-based management and electronic point of sale and inventory management systems.\nDemonstrated strong interpersonal skills.\nAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, associates, customers and with the Corporate Staff.\nDemonstrated use of Team concept of Management.\nTRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:\nN/A\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nRegularly walks, stands, and does computer work.\nOccasionally sits.\nSeldom/Never lifts up to 50 lbs.\nAdditional Physical Requirements\nConstantly communicate with others to exchange information.\nConstantly repeat motions that may include thewrists, hands and/or fingers.\nConstantly assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.\nLight work that includes constantly lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds, occasionally.\nOccasionally, ascend or descend ladders, stairs, step stools, etc.\nINDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:\nPerforms duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives.
