This role serves as a hands-on technical leader, driving complex engineering initiatives, influencing architectural decisions, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional digital customer experiences.\nThe Principal React Developer works closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translates them into robust, scalable front-end solutions. This role is responsible for advancing platform capabilities, driving modernization, optimizing performance, and mentoring engineering teams while remaining deeply involved in design and development.\nThis is an onsite position that is required to be based in Springfield, Missouri.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nDesign, develop, and deliver enterprise-scale front-end applications using React.js and Next.js (SSR/SSG/ISR). Serve as a hands-on technical leader, contributing to critical code paths while guiding engineering direction.\nLead implementation of micro-frontend architectures (Module Federation, Single-SPA) to enable scalability and team autonomy.\nDrive front-end platform upgrades including React migrations, Next.js upgrades, and adoption of modern tooling such as React Compiler.\nBuild and enforce reusable, scalable component libraries and design system standards.\nImplement page composition and stitching strategies across micro-frontends to create seamless user experiences.\nDevelop and integrate with RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs, ensuring efficient data flow and rendering strategies.\nInfluence and guide decisions on state management, routing, and data-fetching patterns (Redux, Recoil, etc.).\nLead performance optimization initiatives, including code splitting, lazy loading, memoization, React Compiler optimizations, SSR/edge rendering, and runtime improvements.\nDesign and implement advanced caching strategies using browser caching, CDN caching, ISR, edge caching, and tools like Varnish to improve scalability and response times.\nEnsure cross-browser compatibility, mobile responsiveness, and compliance with accessibility (WCAG) standards.\nApply and promote secure coding practices (XSS, CSRF mitigation, data protection).\nDrive testing strategy and implementation using Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or similar tools.\nMonitor, analyze, and improve front-end performance and observability using tools like Lighthouse and Core Web Vitals.\nCollaborate with DevOps teams to support containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes for front-end applications.\nEstablish and promote best practices for micro-frontends, code quality, and engineering standards.\nMentor developers, perform code reviews, and elevate overall team capability and code quality.\nCollaborate cross-functionally with product, UX, backend, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.\nActively participate in Agile workflows and contribute to continuous delivery and engineering excellence.\nEvaluate and introduce emerging technologies and innovations into the front-end ecosystem.\nLead initiatives focused on performance, scalability, modernization, and developer experience improvements.\nALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED\nEXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:\nMinimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline is required.\n12+ years of experience in front-end development, with strong expertise in React.js.\nMinimum 8+ years of experience with Next.js, Micro-Frontends, and modern front-end architectures.\nStrong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, SCSS.\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY: \nDeep expertise in modern React concepts such as Hooks, Context API, functional components, and performance optimization techniques.\nHands-on experience with React upgrades, dependency management, and adoption of emerging features such as React Compiler.\nProven experience building and scaling micro-frontend architectures (Module Federation, Single-SPA, or similar).\nStrong understanding of page orchestration, composition, and stitching across distributed UI systems.\nExperience implementing caching strategies, including CDN integration, ISR, edge caching, and Varnish.\nStrong experience with state management libraries such as Redux and Recoil.\nStrong knowledge of front-end architecture, design patterns, and large-scale application design.\nExperience working with REST and/or GraphQL APIs.\nStrong expertise in Core Web Vitals, performance tuning, and front-end observability.\nFamiliarity with UI frameworks such as Material UI, Ant Design, Bootstrap, or Tailwind CSS.\nExperience with build tools such as Webpack (Module Federation), Vite, Babel.\nExperience with monorepo tools such as Nx, Lerna, or Turborepo is a plus.\nFamiliarity with Git and modern version control practices.\nExperience in Agile environments with strong understanding of SDLC processes.\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment workflows.\nFamiliarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.\nStrong understanding of Docker and Kubernetes-based deployment models.\nExposure to headless/composable commerce platforms is preferred.\nStrong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills with focus on scalability and resilience.\nExcellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.\nDemonstrated ability to influence technical decisions, mentor engineers, and drive outcomes without direct authority.\nExperience in retail or eCommerce environments is highly
