Tomorrow can’t wait, let’s shape it together!\nBritish American TobaccoDBS has an exciting opportunity for a Platform Reliability Engineer in Selangor Malaysia\nThe role passionate about platform reliability involves hands-on duties to maintain BAT cloud environments on the Microsoft cloud platform and AWS as reliable, secure, resilient, and efficient. The role combines day-to-day cloud operations with reliability engineering, automation, observability, cloud security, networking and continuous improvement. This is not a purely operational support role. The engineer will work with application, security, architecture and service teams to resolve production issues, improve platform health and turn repeatable operational work into well-engineered, automated solutions. The role will also support practical AIOps and AI-enabled use cases where they deliver clear operational value.\nYour key responsibilities will include:\nHandle the day-to-day health, capacity, performance and operating environment of BAT cloud platforms on Microsoft and Amazon services. \nLead the technical response to incidents, conduct underlying cause investigations and ensure agreed improvements are carried out. \nBuild useful observability across logs, metrics, traces, alerts and dashboards so teams can identify issues early and act on the right signals. Build resilience in cloud solutions through fault tolerance, redundancy, backup, disaster recovery and business continuity planning. \nApply cloud security controls across identity, RBAC, privileged access, network security, vulnerability remediation and secure configuration. \nDesign, operate and solve hybrid and multi-cloud networking, including Virtual Network, VPC, VPN, Express-Route, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, firewalls, DNS, load balancers and private endpoints.\nBuild and maintain infrastructure through code automation employing Bicep and CloudFormation, with accurate version control and peer review. Automate provisioning, patching, monitoring and recurring operational activities, including self-service or self-healing where appropriate.\nWork closely with application teams to understand infrastructure needs and make sure cloud services support business and operational requirements. \nReview cloud usage, performance and cost trends, then implement sensible rightsizing, scheduling, reservation, storage and architecture improvements. Evaluate emerging AI technologies with a focus on real operational benefits, secure data access and responsible AI guardrails.\nWhat are we looking for?\nShown experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure operations or site reliability engineering. Experience operating both Azure cloud services and Amazon Web Services in an enterprise environment. \nStrong fixing, incident management and root cause analysis skills, with a track record of improving reliability after incidents. \nPractical experience with cloud networking, AI, security, observability, disaster recovery, cost Optimisation and infrastructure automation.\nInfrastructure as Code experience using Bicep and CloudFormation. \nExperience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, AWS CloudWatch or equivalent observability platforms. \nGood understanding of IAM, RBAC, cloud security posture, high availability, backup, failover, RTO and RPO.\nDegree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science or an equivalent discipline.
