Be part of our new Alternative Provision
Bath College is developing an exciting new Alternative Provision (AP) at our Somer Valley Campus, providing a supportive, inclusive and engaging learning environment for young people aged 14-16 who may benefit from an alternative to their current school-based provision.
We are looking for an experienced and committed Alternative Provision SEND & Learner Support Lead to play a key role in the day-to-day support of our learners and the coordination of the wider support around them.
This is a varied role combining direct learner support with SEND and inclusion coordination. Our Alternative Provision operates across five afternoons each week and the successful candidate will work directly alongside learners during these sessions, providing approximately 15-18 hours of learner-facing support each week.
The remaining hours will be used to coordinate support, liaise with parents/carers, schools, commissioners and other professionals, contribute to reviews and transition planning, and ensure that each learner has the right support in place to engage and progress successfully.
Why join Bath College?
This is an opportunity to be part of a new provision from the beginning and help shape how we support young people who may need a different approach to education.
You will join a supportive college community committed to inclusion, safeguarding and creating opportunities for every learner to achieve their potential.
Bath College offers a competitive salary and excellent employee benefits, alongside opportunities for professional development and the chance to contribute to the continuing development of our Alternative Provision and wider inclusive practice.
If you are passionate about SEND and inclusion, enjoy working directly with young people and can bring together the support around them to help them succeed, we would love to hear from you.
If you feel you can make a positive contribution, please complete the application form, making sure you detailing how your qualifications, skills and experience meet the requirements of the role.
The job posting can close as soon as sufficient applications have been received.
