Adjunct faculty will be responsible for course preparation, instruction, student assessment, and maintaining academic standards consistent with University policies and expectations.\nApplications are accepted on a rolling basis, with current instructional needs anticipated for the Spring 2027 semester.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nDevelop and deliver engaging, academically rigorous online instruction in Cybersecurity, Computer Information Systems, and/or Computer Science at the undergraduate level.\nPrepare course syllabi in accordance with Batten University guidelines and distribute them to students on the first day of class and to the appropriate department chair.\nUtilize Blackboard, the University's learning management system, and other instructional technologies to facilitate effective online teaching and learning.\nMaintain an organized and accessible online learning environment that supports student participation, engagement, and academic success.\nEvaluate student performance through assignments, assessments, and other appropriate instructional methods, providing timely and constructive feedback.\nMaintain regular communication with students regarding course expectations, academic progress, assignments, and instructional support.\nEstablish and maintain reasonable availability for student consultation and academic assistance.\nSubmit midterm reports, final grades, and C- reports in accordance with deadlines and procedures established by the University Registrar.\nMaintain accurate student academic records and comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and applicable University policies.\nCollaborate with academic departments, faculty leadership, and campus support services to address student needs and promote academic success.\nUphold University standards for academic integrity, professional conduct, and instructional excellence.\nPerform other instructional duties consistent with the responsibilities of an adjunct faculty appointment.\nRequired Qualifications\nMaster's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related discipline, with at least 18 graduate semester credit hours in the assigned teaching discipline.\nDemonstrated subject matter knowledge in the applicable instructional area.\nExperience using online learning management systems and instructional technologies.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work independently, manage instructional responsibilities, and meet established academic deadlines.\nCommitment to student-centered instruction, academic excellence, and the mission of Batten University.\nPreferred Qualifications\nEarned doctorate or other terminal degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related discipline.\nPrevious experience teaching undergraduate courses at an accredited college or university.\nDemonstrated experience developing and delivering online courses.\nRelevant professional certifications in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related disciplines.\nProfessional experience in the applicable field of instruction.\nPosition Details\nAppointment: Part-time, Adjunct Faculty\nDepartment: Batten Global Campus\nReports To: Dean of the Batten Global Campus\nFLSA Classification: Exempt - Teaching Professional\nCompensation: Based on assigned courses and University adjunct faculty compensation guidelines\nWork Location: Remote - Online Instruction\nAnticipated Start: Spring 2027\nApplication Process\nInterested candidates should apply through the Batten University Employment Opportunities webpage.\nApplicants should submit the following materials:\nCurrent resume or curriculum vitae.\nCover letter outlining relevant academic qualifications, professional experience, and teaching interests.\nUnofficial graduate transcripts documenting academic qualifications.\nReview of applications will continue on a rolling basis until instructional needs are met.
