Here, you will find more than just a job-you will find purpose and pride.\nYour role at Baxter\nThe Quality Lab Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring the timely and accurate testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished pharmaceutical products, and environmental monitoring samples. This role leads and develops laboratory personnel while maintaining compliance with FDA, cGMP, GLP, USP, and other regulatory requirements. The supervisor drives operational excellence by ensuring data integrity, laboratory safety, equipment reliability, staff training, and continuous improvement initiatives that support product quality, regulatory compliance, and manufacturing success\nWhat you'll be doing\nProvide support for daily operation of the laboratory and control of workflow. Implement testing standards and policies.\nConduct regular performance and development discussions with direct reports, provide timely and constructive feedback, establish and document performance improvement plans when appropriate, and monitor progress to ensure sustained improvement and accountability.\nSupervise safety measures of laboratory. Assist personnel and enhance their performance. \nEnsure completion of all testing, including special project / protocol testing in a timely and appropriate manner.\nAssist in implementing quality and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, GLP, QSR, cGMP, and USP rules and guidelines), and ensure compliance with testing SOPs and specifications.\nMonitor the testing techniques and accuracy of all records and documentation in the laboratory.\nParticipate in pro-active functions that impact production, increase efficiency, solve problems, generate cost savings, improve quality, and provide new product support.\nEnsure employees are properly trained. Make appropriate staffing decisions.\nPrepare, review, and revise, as required, SOPs, specifications, and associated training materials; communicate changes and ensure required training updates are completed and documented.\nEnsure equipment maintenance and calibration, and internal audits are performed on schedule.\nLead out-of-limit and laboratory investigations, identify root causes and corrective actions, and document investigation outcomes accurately and promptly in the TrackWise system.\nReview and approve laboratory records, test results, investigations, and related documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, data integrity, and compliance with approved procedures.\nMentor and develop laboratory analysts by providing technical coaching, troubleshooting guidance, performance feedback, and support for training and qualification activities.\nCommunicate proactively with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other support functions regarding testing priorities and delays, out-of-limit or atypical results, laboratory safety concerns, and potential product or production impacts; coordinate timely escalation, investigation support, and follow-up actions through resolution.\nWork Environment / Working Conditions\n***This position requires work in a facility that manufactures penicillin products; therefore, candidates Must not be allergic to Penicillin and Cephalosporin or their related products and /or materials.***\nMay be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).\nExposure to pharmaceutical materials, chemicals, and manufacturing environments.\nWhat you'll bring\nBachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, or related science with Chemistry coursework\n4-6 years of experience in the healthcare industry.\nMust have knowledge of the operation and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation-including HPLC, UV, IR, GC, and mass spectrometry-as well as, quality and regulatory requirements applicable to pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing laboratories.\nMust possess excellent supervisory and interpersonal skills and be able to communicate with subordinates, peers, and managers.\nWe understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated base salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
