This position sits within Baxter's Cybersecurity organization and serves as the primary security expert for AI technologies, including Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI Agents, and machine learning platforms.\nYou will partner closely with teams across Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, Data & Analytics, Infrastructure, R&D, Privacy, Legal, and Quality to establish the security standards, governance frameworks, and guardrails needed to enable responsible AI innovation. As Baxter continues to expand the use of AI across products, operations, and corporate functions, you will help shape the company's AI security strategy while balancing innovation, risk management, and regulatory requirements.\nThis is an opportunity to join Baxter early in its AI journey and help define how AI technologies are secured across a global healthcare organization. The role offers significant visibility, cross-functional exposure, and the opportunity to grow into a broader cybersecurity leadership role over time.\nThis is a remote U.S.-based role with quarterly travel to Baxter's Deerfield, IL headquarters.\nWhat you'll be doing\nLead security reviews and assessments for AI, Generative AI, machine learning, and AI agent solutions across the enterprise.\nDefine AI security standards, architectures, and best practices that support secure and responsible AI adoption.\nPartner with technical and business teams to evaluate new AI technologies, platforms, vendors, and use cases from a security and risk perspective.\nConduct threat modeling, architecture reviews, and risk assessments for AI applications and platforms.\nEstablish security controls and guardrails for LLMs, AI copilots, RAG solutions, AI agents, and related technologies.\nSupport AI governance initiatives by defining security requirements, approval processes, monitoring capabilities, and risk management practices.\nCollaborate with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Data & Analytics, R&D, Privacy, Legal, and Quality teams to ensure AI solutions meet security and compliance requirements.\nServe as a trusted advisor and mentor to architects, engineers, developers, and business stakeholders on AI security best practices.\nWhat you'll bring\nBachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.\n8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security architecture, enterprise architecture, or related technology disciplines.\nExperience securing AI, Generative AI, machine learning, cloud, or advanced analytics environments.\nStrong understanding of AI security risks, including prompt injection, data leakage, model poisoning, adversarial attacks, and unauthorized model access.\nHands-on experience with AI platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Services, AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, or similar technologies.\nExperience conducting threat modeling, security architecture reviews, and enterprise risk assessments.\nKnowledge of identity and access management, cloud security, data protection, encryption, API security, and AI governance principles.\nStrong communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills, with the ability to influence across a complex global organization.\nNice to Have\nExperience with Microsoft security technologies including Purview, Defender, Entra ID, and Azure security services.\nFamiliarity with AI governance frameworks such as NIST AI RMF, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 42001, or ISO 27001.\nExperience working in regulated industries such as healthcare, medical device, manufacturing, automotive, or other environments with significant compliance requirements.\nProfessional certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, Azure Security Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect, or similar credentials.\nWe understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $152,000 - $209,000. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses.
