As a Senior Engineer - Packaging, you will partner closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, Validation, Supply Chain, and Site Engineering teams to drive operational excellence across Filling and Packaging operations.\nIn this role, you will serve as a technical leader and project champion, bridging Engineering and Manufacturing throughout the project lifecycle while ensuring the successful integration of people, processes, and equipment.\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nLead the design, installation, commissioning, qualification, and validation of new packaging equipment and systems.\nDrive packaging process optimization initiatives to improve safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and cost performance.\nImplement and sustain Statistical Process Control (SPC) programs for Filling and Packaging operations, including filler machines, torque application systems, and automated packaging equipment.\nEnsure appropriate statistical methodologies are applied during equipment qualification and validation activities.\nDevelop and maintain systems to monitor documentation errors, identify trends, and implement corrective actions that improve compliance and operational performance.\nLead initiatives to transition preventive maintenance programs toward predictive and reliability-centered maintenance strategies.\nDevelop, implement, and maintain Packaging and Filling performance metrics, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).\nAnalyze equipment performance data and identify opportunities to improve throughput, reduce downtime, and increase operational efficiency.\nManage capital projects, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives from concept through implementation and project closure.\nDevelop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements while ensuring adherence to project timelines and financial objectives.\nCoordinate contractors, maintenance personnel, vendors, and technical resources required for successful project execution.\nFacilitate cross-functional project meetings and provide regular status updates to site leadership and project stakeholders.\nIdentify project risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure successful execution with minimal impact to manufacturing operations.\nSupport manufacturing operations by troubleshooting packaging equipment issues and implementing sustainable solutions.\nWhat You'll Bring\nBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.\nMinimum of 5-8 years of engineering experience within Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Biotechnology, or Chemical Manufacturing environments.\nDemonstrated experience leading packaging equipment installations, upgrades, qualifications, and validation activities.\nStrong knowledge of packaging systems, automated equipment, and manufacturing process improvement methodologies.\nExperience managing capital projects within regulated manufacturing environments.\nExperience with IQ/OQ/PQ validation protocols and equipment commissioning.\nKnowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and statistical analysis tools.\nExperience implementing and monitoring OEE and other manufacturing performance indicators.\nKnowledge of predictive maintenance and equipment reliability principles.\nFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.\nExperience with filling, packaging, serialization, labeling, inspection, or automated manufacturing systems.\nFully bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal).\nTechnical Competencies\nProject Management\nPackaging Equipment Validation\nProcess Optimization\nStatistical Analysis and SPC\nOEE and Performance Metrics\nRoot Cause Analysis\nUS Benefits at Baxter (except for Puerto Rico)\nThis is where your well-being matters.
