The successful candidate will participate in experimental design, laboratory testing, data generation, and data interpretation while supporting the development and characterization of APIs, excipients, and pharmaceutical formulations. Through hands-on laboratory work and collaboration with cross-functional teams, this role provides valuable experience in analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical development, and formulation support.\nYOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nThe primary responsibilities of this role are to:\nSupport Analytical Development Scientists with method development, stability testing, and method validation activities;\nParticipate in the design and execution of experiments, data generation, and interpretation of results;\nConduct hands-on laboratory work and analytical development activities;\nDevelop and perform assay, related compounds, and dissolution testing of APIs and excipients to characterize materials;\nDevelop and conduct testing methods for a variety of formulations, including solid dosage forms, liquids, topicals, and gummies;\nAnalyze experimental data and interpret results for presentation within Analytical Development and cross-functional teams;\nLeverage literature reviews, existing monographs, and chromatography modeling programs to support efficient method development;\nDesign and execute experimental stability studies to support formulation decision-making;\nInteract regularly with members of the Formulation Development, Analytical Development, Site Operations, and Packaging teams to support project objectives.\nWHO YOU ARE\nBayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:\nRequired:\nCurrently pursuing a master's or doctoral degree in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field;\nAbility to commit to a six-month Co-op assignment;\nHands-on laboratory experience, including data analysis and interpretation;\nAbility to work accurately and efficiently on multiple projects with aggressive timelines;\nStrong computer and digital skills, including Microsoft Office applications;\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nPreferred:\nFamiliarity with chromatography and related analytical instrumentation;\nExperience with Design of Experiments (DOE) and data analysis;\nHands-on laboratory experience in a research or development environment;\nPositive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn;\nStrong creative problem-solving and critical-thinking skills;\nFamiliarity with DOE software, modeling, and simulation tools.\nEmployees can expect to be paid an hourly rate of approximately between $22.75 to $47.75. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits may include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. (if relevant).
