You will support proper costing of products and inventories, as well as timely monthly financial closing and reporting of manufacturing variances for a chemical manufacturing site.\nYOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nThe primary responsibilities of this role, Financial Specialist Intern, are to support the Site Controllers to:\nDevelop the annual operating budget for the site;\nDevelop annual product cost rollups for product cost standards, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and error resolution;\nAnalyze cost center spending and value flow (assessments) for consistency with the operational plan;\nDevelop periodic cost estimates;\nBe accountable for account reconciliations and communicate significant impacts;\nCollaborate with site leadership and operations teams to ensure drivers of financial impacts are understood;\nCollaborate with project managers to ensure compliance with Capital versus Expense guidelines;\nConduct analysis and explain changes in individual product standards;\nDevelop monthly and quarterly forecasts for Crop Protection sites in partnership with functional leaders;\nAnalyze and communicate actual performance against budget and forecast;\nDevelop analysis and provide written feedback to the Site Controller for variances against budget and forecast.\nKey Working Relationships:\nThis position will support the Site Controllers in providing product cost and financial support to the manufacturing site.\nWHO YOU ARE\nBayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:\nEducation:\nCurrently pursuing a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Ag Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.\nQualifications & Competencies:\nDemonstrated alignment with Bayer's Values (Leadership, Integrity, Flexibility, and Efficiency);\nExcellent ability to interact and communicate effectively at all levels and with individuals from various parts of the organization;\nMotivated, self-starting individual with a proven ability to prioritize multiple projects and work effectively in a team environment;\nProficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel;\nAbility to commute daily to and from the work location in Muscatine, IA;\nWillingness to work in a chemical manufacturing environment.\nEmployees can expect to be paid an hourly rate of approximately between $20.75 to $58.50. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits may include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. (if relevant).
