Join us for an exciting opportunity where you’ll work closely with our talented Engineering and Maintenance teams, developing and coordinating efforts that make a real impact; this role provides real-world exposure across engineering disciplines, mentorship from experienced engineers and staff, and the chance to contribute to meaningful projects that drive innovation and efficiency.\nYOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nPartner with our talented engineers and staff to enhance chemical processes, improve yields, reduce waste, and cut down cycle times;\nHelp shape project objectives and scope by analyzing stakeholder requirements and basic design packages;\nEnsure all projects and activities align with engineering standards, safety and environmental regulations, and plant operating protocols;\nWork with facilities and reliability engineers to understand maintenance, procurement, and reliability programs in chemical plants;\nPerform and verify engineering calculations using standard methods and principles;\nConduct engineering cost, feasibility, and planning studies and provide recommendations based on stakeholder needs and data analysis;\nTeam up with production and technical staff for process troubleshooting and problem-solving;\nContribute to the implementation of our Operational Excellence program and support site-wide Process Improvement/Lean Manufacturing initiatives.\nWHO YOU ARE\nBayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:\nCurrently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering;\nSuccessfully completed at least your sophomore year with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0;\nProficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);\nAble to commute daily to our Kansas City, MO site;\nAvailable for the internship period (May 17 - August 6, 2027);\nWilling and able to climb stairs and ladders and ready to work in a dynamic chemical plant environment.\nEmployees can expect to be paid an hourly rate of approximately between $24.00 to $45.50. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits may include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc (if relevant).
