The role is responsible for the safe and reliable execution of maintenance activities in collaboration with site leadership, including preventive maintenance, day-to-day operational maintenance, project management, engineering, and other maintenance support as required.\nKey Tasks & Responsibilities\nDevelop preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans based on asset criticality, operating needs, equipment condition, failure history, and risk.\nPlan daily work, shutdowns, and backlog; coordinate resources with Operations and relevant functions to meet safety, quality, reliability, and production requirements.\nUse SAP PM as the system of record for notifications, work orders, planning, confirmations, technical closure, equipment history, downtime, failure data, and cost.\nMaintain accurate SAP master data for functional locations, equipment, BOMs, task lists, measuring points, and maintenance plans.\nUse SAP PM within delegated authority to check stock, reserve materials, initiate purchase requisitions, and follow up material and service transactions.\nAnalyze SAP PM/MM and operational data to improve PM compliance, backlog, reliability trends, spare-parts availability, and maintenance cost.\nIndependently investigate equipment and process issues through structured troubleshooting and root-cause analysis; implement actions to eliminate recurring failures.\nPartner with Operations, Seed Processing, and Manufacturing Excellence to identify and implement equipment, process, capacity, safety, and efficiency improvements.\nIdentify improvement opportunities using equipment performance, SAP data, operator feedback, and relevant external technology developments.\nEvaluate condition monitoring, mobile maintenance, predictive analytics, workflow automation, and energy-efficiency solutions, and coordinate approved site-level pilots.\nPrepare technical and financial business cases, verify operational and financial benefits, document lessons learned, and recommend standardization of successful solutions.\nMaintain procedures, technical standards, and work instructions; ensure compliance with HSE, ISO, OH&S, audit, and applicable site requirements.\nDefine critical spare-parts requirements and recommend inventory, obsolescence, and asset-lifecycle strategies based on operational risk and lifecycle cost.\nCoordinate vendors and contractors; monitor expenditure against approved budgets and ensure safe execution, service quality, schedule, and cost performance.\nLead assigned engineering projects from scope and design through installation, commissioning, handover, technical documentation, and SAP data readiness.\nMaintain KPI dashboards and reports, provide technical guidance and training, and complete assigned audit, compliance, and risk actions on time.\nQualifications & Competencies\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.\nMinimum 5 years of relevant maintenance, engineering or manufacturing experience.\nDemonstrated experience delivering maintenance, facility or engineering projects.\nWorking proficiency in SAP PM and practical knowledge of SAP MM maintenance transactions.\nStrong knowledge of maintenance planning, reliability, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.\nTechnical experience in equipment installation, commissioning and start-up.\nKnowledge of HSE, ISO and Management of Change requirements.\nAbility to prepare business cases and quantify safety, reliability, productivity and cost benefits.\nProficiency in Microsoft 365 and data analysis; Power BI is an advantage.\nEffective English communication and ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.\n\nLocal regulations and legal requirements vary per country of hire and will be discussed with considered candidates individually based on their potential of hire.\n\nBayer is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disabled/Veterans\n\nBayer is committed to providing access and reasonable accommodations in its application process for individuals with disabilities and encourages applicants with disabilities to request any needed accommodation(s) using the contact information below.\n\nIf you meet the requirements of this unique opportunity, and want to impact our mission Science for a better life, we encourage you to apply now.
