If you’re hungry to build a varied and meaningful career in a community of brilliant and diverse minds to make a real difference, there’s only one choice.\nOperations Associate II\nYOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nThe Operations Associate II is responsible for executing daily operations that support North America Plant Breeding Research and Development efforts while serving as a key member of the site's Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program. This role works closely with Greenhouse Operations, Site Leadership, and the IPM team to safely and efficiently execute greenhouse operations, pesticide applications, scouting activities, data management, compliance programs, and crop production support activities. The position combines hands-on operational execution with continuous improvement, technical problem solving, equipment operation, and stakeholder collaboration to ensure the delivery of high-quality research and production outcomes.\nThe primary responsibilities of this role, Operations Associate II, are to:\nKey Responsibilities:\nGreenhouse Operations & Research Support\nExecute daily greenhouse and research operations in support of breeding and R&D objectives;\nOrganize and execute research protocols and operational plans aligned with site priorities;\nSupport planting, irrigation, crop protection, land preparation, harvest, and other production activities as needed;\nOperate research and greenhouse equipment while ensuring safe and efficient utilization;\nMaintain accurate records, notes, and operational data within enterprise systems and greenhouse control platforms;\nSupport implementation of innovative technologies, tools, and methodologies that improve operational efficiency and research outcomes.\nIntegrated Pest Management (IPM)\nSupport all components of the site IPM program under the guidance of the IPM Guide;\nConduct routine greenhouse scouting and monitoring of pest and disease pressures;\nCollect and maintain accurate scouting records and agronomic observations;\nSafely prepare, mix, load, and apply pesticides according to prescribed programs;\nPerform spray spot treatments and other crop protection activities as required.\nEnsure timely communication and documentation of pesticide applications in accordance with regulatory and internal standards;\nMaintain pesticide inventories, storage areas, and waste management processes;\nAdhere to all integrated pest management protocols and procedures.\nEquipment, Operation & Maintenance\nOperate pesticide application equipment, greenhouse automation systems, and other operational machinery;\nPerform basic troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and mechanical repairs on greenhouse equipment and operating systems;\nSupport operational reliability initiatives through proactive maintenance and system monitoring;\nUtilize digital technologies and operational software platforms to support decision making and workflow execution.\nSafety, Compliance & Quality\nMaintain compliance with all Bayer HSE, QA/QC, OSHA, WPS, RCRA, FIFRA, state, and federal regulatory requirements;\nParticipate in and support safety inspections, audits, and compliance programs.\nComplete and support required SOP, equipment operation, safety, and compliance training programs;\nEnsure work is performed in a manner that supports site quality metrics, operational efficiency, and cost effectiveness;\nPromote a culture of safety, stewardship, and continuous improvement across all operations.\nLeadership & Collaboration\nBuild strong working relationships across Greenhouse Operations, Breeding, Agronomy, Field Operations, Site Leadership, and IPM teams;\nCollaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve operational and research objectives;\nTrain and mentor team members and seasonal employees on operational procedures, equipment operation, and safety practices;\nIdentify opportunities for process improvements and actively contribute to innovation initiatives;\nSupport project execution and coordinate activities to ensure successful delivery of operational goals.\nWHO YOU ARE\nBayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:\nRequired Qualifications:\nHigh School Diploma or GED;\nPrior work-related experience in agriculture, supply chain, manufacturing;\nArizona Department of Agriculture Private Pesticide Applicator License, or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire;\nAbility to work extended hours during peak operational seasons;\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.;\nStrong written and verbal communication skills in English;\nProficiency with computers, mobile devices, Microsoft Office applications, and data management systems;\nAbility to prioritize work and operate effectively with limited supervision;\nDemonstrated ability to work successfully within a diverse team environment.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree. Preferred disciplines: Agriculture, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business, Engineering;\nWith Bachelor's degree, 3+ years' work-related experience in agriculture, supply chain, manufacturing and, in lieu of degree, 6+ years' work-related experience in agriculture, supply chain, manufacturing;\nExperience with greenhouse operations, crop production, or agricultural research environments;\nKnowledge of pesticide regulations including WPS, RCRA, and FIFRA;\nExperience with greenhouse automation systems, precision agriculture technologies, and data collection platforms;\nStrong mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills;\nDemonstrated success implementing continuous improvement initiatives;\nExperience working on collaborative cross-functional project teams.\nEmployees can expect to be paid a salary between $61,680.00 - $92,520.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
