Be Bayer.\nMain Purpose\nThe Unit Lead is co-responsible for the performance of the Unit, ensuring delivery of operational, safety, quality, people, and cost KPIs together with the squads.\nThis role focuses on operational execution, squad enablement, and day-to-day leadership, acting as a key escalation point while fostering squad self-organization in line with DSO and OnePSS principles.\nYour mission Will be to\nUnit & Operational Performance\nCo-owns Unit results and delivery of agreed site and unit KPIs.\nSupports squads in executing daily production and operational plans safely, efficiently, and on time.\nEnsures compliance with Safety, Quality, People standards, and internal policies.\nLeadership & People\nLeads and develops multiple squads (typically 3-4), managing technicians and team members directly.\nApplies VACC leadership behaviors (Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, Coach) in daily interactions.\nCoaches squad members through feedback, performance management, and development conversations.\nSupports staffing, shift coverage, and short-term resource alignment, prioritizing squad self-organization.\nWay of Working & Continuous Improvement\nActs as an escalation point for prioritization, problem solving, and conflict resolution.\nSponsors and reinforces OnePSS practices within the Unit.\nConducts regular Gemba walks to stay connected to shop-floor reality.\nDrives continuous improvement initiatives and short-cycle experimentation (e.g., 90-day improvements).\nCollaboration & Governance\nCollaborates with other Unit Leads, site functions, and enabling teams (SCM, Engineering, HR, IT, Finance).\nRepresents the Unit in Tier 2 meetings and escalates appropriately to Tier 3 when needed.\nEnsures administrative and compliance requirements are met with minimal burden on squads.\nTakes ownership of the unit P&L, connecting Unit’s priorities and deliveries to the site’s overall goal\nUnlock your Potencial\nBachelor’s degree preferred (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business, Agriculture or similar).\n10+ years of experience in operations or manufacturing environments at agriculture industries or similar.\nMinimum 5 years leading operational teams.\nSolid understanding of Safety, Quality, Labor Relations, and regulatory requirements.\nStrong collaboration, prioritization, and escalation skills.\nAdvanced Spanish and English skills.\n100% on site role (Viluco, Paine, Santa Julia)\nYOUR APPLICATION\nThis is your opportunity to tackle the world’s biggest challenges with us: Maintaining our health, feeding growing populations and slowing the rate of climate change.
