In this senior technical leadership role, you will drive new product development, product enhancements, and sustaining engineering initiatives while collaborating with global teams across engineering, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and commercial functions.\nWorking across the full product lifecycle, from early concept and design through to product realisation and commercial launch, you will have the opportunity to contribute to globally distributed products and collaborate with stakeholders across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.\nRole Responsibilities\nLead product development activities from concept through design, verification, validation, manufacturing release and commercial launch. \nAct as a technical mentor and team leader, supporting the development of junior engineers. \nCollaborate with global engineering teams and support product launches in international markets. \nLead mechanical design activities for new product development programs and product enhancements. \nProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers. \nPlan, manage, and coordinate engineering activities to meet project and business objectives. \nDrive the investigation of field reliability issues, customer feedback, and root cause analyses. \nPartner with Product Supply teams to resolve manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and material issues. \nDefine engineering requirements and lead design reviews throughout the development lifecycle. \nLead risk management activities, ensuring compliance across product development programs. \nProvide expert technical advice to project teams and key stakeholders. \nDevelop and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, manufacturing partners, and external stakeholders. \nSupport continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering and development processes. \nEnsure compliance with relevant regulatory and quality standards, including TGA, CE Mark, and ISO 13485 requirements. \nStay current with emerging manufacturing technologies, prototyping methods, and engineering best practices. \nRequired Experience & Qualifications\nDegree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline. \nExtensive experience in a senior engineering role, ideally within a highly regulated industry such as medical devices, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or advanced manufacturing. \nDemonstrated expertise within a technical discipline, with the ability to solve complex engineering problems and develop innovative solutions. \nStrong experience leading mechanical design activities across product development programs. \nProven ability to influence stakeholders and provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams. \nExtensive experience leading mechanical engineering activities within the medical device or other highly regulated industries. \nDemonstrated experience working within design control and regulated product development environments. \nProven experience delivering products through the full development lifecycle, from concept through to manufacturing release and commercialisation. \nExperience supporting products distributed across global markets is highly regarded. \nExperience with mechanical CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo/ProE, or equivalent. \nStrong understanding of engineering design principles, risk management, and product lifecycle management. \nExcellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. \nExperience working within regulated quality systems and product development frameworks is highly regarded. \nMedical device development experience will be highly advantageous. \nPlease note: To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must hold full and ongoing work rights in Australia and be eligible to obtain and maintain any required visas, permits, travel documentation and entry clearances necessary to undertake international business travel as required by the role.\nWhy Join Bayer Radiology?\nWork on innovative medical technologies that improve patient outcomes globally. \nJoin a collaborative engineering team of approximately 70 professionals across engineering, programs and technical functions. \nLead projects with global impact across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. \nOpportunities for international travel, including collaboration with US-based teams and attendance at technical conferences. \nFlexible working arrangements with a mix of onsite collaboration and flexibility where business needs allow. \nBe part of something bigger\nAt Bayer, we’re visionaries, driven to solve the world’s toughest challenges and striving for a world where 'Health for all, Hunger for none’ is no longer a dream, but a real possibility.
