If you want your work to count and the room to become your best, you'll find it here.\nPrincipal Project Engineer - Multidisciplinary Engineering and Project Delivery\nPrincipal Project Engineer -Multidisciplinary Engineering and Project Delivery\nPURPOSE:\nThe Principal Project Engineer independently manages the engineering and technical delivery of defined buildings, facility areas, or multidisciplinary work packages within the greenfield API and Drug Product manufacturing campus.\nReporting to the assigned Project Manager, with technical direction from a Senior Principal Project Engineer where applicable, the role coordinates requirements, design interfaces, procurement support, construction, commissioning, applicable qualification, and handover.\nThe position owns assigned-package completion and resolves routine cross-discipline issues while escalating significant design decisions, changes, and delivery risks.\nThis position will ultimately be based in New Albany, OH. Initially, however, significant travel to the design firms will be required until the design and construction teams transition onsite, anticipated for mid- to late summer 2027. Some remote work will also be necessary until an onsite office is established, potentially as early as March 2027. \nWe would prefer candidates to be currently residing in the Eastern and Midwestern sections of the United States. Relocation is available.\nYOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nScope\nDefined building areas, infrastructure packages, or groups of related facility systems;\nHVAC, mechanical, electrical, and CSA interfaces within the assigned scope;\nEngineering deliverables, supplier packages, installation requirements, and field coordination;\nSystem turnover, commissioning, applicable qualification, start-up support, and handover;\nAssigned package budgets, schedules, risks, and changes.\nEngineering Coordination\nDefine and maintain assigned-package requirements, boundaries, deliverables, and acceptance criteria;\nCoordinate engineering partners and specialists to produce complete, consistent designs;\nReview layouts, specifications, equipment interfaces, access requirements, and interdisciplinary connections;\nResolve routine design conflicts and obtain specialist input for technical decisions;\nMaintain requirements traceability and incorporation of approved changes.\nProcurement and Construction\nCoordinate technical specifications, bid evaluations, supplier reviews, and equipment delivery requirements;\nTrack vendor information and ensure it is incorporated into facility designs;\nCoordinate construction readiness, technical queries, installation checks, and discrepancy resolution;\nAssess proposed changes and obtain approvals before implementation.\nCommissioning and Operational Readiness\nDevelop assigned-package turnover and commissioning plans within the overall project strategy;\nCoordinate test prerequisites, supplier support, functional testing, and applicable qualification activities;\nTrack deficiencies, corrective actions, retesting, and documentation completion;\nCoordinate start-up support, training inputs, maintenance requirements, and operating documentation;\nDeliver complete system and facility handover records.\nCost, Schedule, and Delivery\nManage delegated work-package budgets and provide forecasts, accrual inputs, and cost-to-complete information;\nTrack design, procurement, construction, and testing milestones;\nMaintain interface, risk, action, and change registers;\nIdentify emerging constraints and recommend practical corrective actions.\nWHO YOU ARE\nBayer seeks and incumbent who possesses the following:\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline;\nTypically seven or more years of relevant engineering or capital-project experience;\nDemonstrated independent delivery of multidisciplinary facility or infrastructure packages;\nWorking knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, CSA, commissioning, and construction interfaces;\nExperience coordinating suppliers, engineering contractors, and operating stakeholders;\nStrong planning, technical documentation, problem-solving, and cost/schedule management skills;\nFluent English required.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nPharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing experience.\nEmployees can expect to be paid a salary between $117,760.00 to $176,640.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant).
