This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the next generation of camelina products.\nThis is a permanent, full-time position, based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan at the LFK biotechnology lab facility (Innovation Saskatchewan).\nWhat you will do:\nManage the day-to-day organization and maintenance of growth room projects including, but not limited to seeding, tissue sampling, transplanting, self & cross pollinating, harvesting & threshing\nManage general plant care and maintenance of growth rooms\nIdentify and report issues that may arise with facility, equipment or with plant health including need to control pests or diseases in growth rooms\nEfficiently & effectively carryout all detailed record keeping and other technical objectives\nMaintain tidiness & orderliness within the workplace\nSupervise and train temporary employees as required\nWork closely with other research staff to coordinate and implement process improvements\nParticipate in task-related data collection, document creation and process review for job-related activities\nAid with seed set up for field nursery and yield trials\nAid with note taking, plant collections, and hand harvesting activities in field locations as needed\nComply and maintain Health Safety and Environment (HSE), Quality Management System (QMS) and Compliance programs at Bayer.\nFoster an inclusive environment of professionalism and safe working practices ensuring Safety and Compliance requirements are met or exceeded within Squad.\nWho you are:\nDegree or diploma in agricultural science, biological science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).\nStrong knowledge of crop production or growth room/greenhouse production methodologies\nAbility to manage the physical demands of the role, including watering, plant care, and growth room maintenance.\nWillingness to work in varied weather conditions (cool or warm) when needed.\nAbility to lift up to 60 lbs.\nAvailability to work overtime during the week and on weekends when necessary.\nStrong attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.\nOutstanding organizational skills with the ability to prioritize daily tasks effectively.\nHighly motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team to drive outcomes.\nComfortable with change and quick to learn new procedures.\nExcellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.\nStrong computer literacy, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.\nAdditional skills & experience is preferred:\nPrevious experience in Camelina and/or plant breeding\nWhat we offer:\nCompetitive compensation and rewards package\nCollaborative, diverse and inclusive culture\nCareer development and global opportunities\nWork-life flexibility programs such as flex hours, employee discounts, volunteer days, wellness, and other employee offerings\nBayer is committed to fostering, cultivating and preserving a culture of Inclusion and Diversity. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation.
