The position is responsible for developing, integrating, and operating scalable MES solutions while leveraging emerging AI technologies to improve engineering productivity, accelerate software delivery, and enhance operational outcomes.\nWorking within a global product-oriented environment, the Senior Software Engineer collaborates with product teams, architects, manufacturing stakeholders, automation engineers, and data professionals to deliver innovative and future-ready digital manufacturing solutions.\nAt Bayer, we are committed to transparency, equal pay for equal work or work of equal value, and objective reward practices in line with EU and local regulations. oversight.\nMES Solution Development\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain MES solutions based on Siemens OpCenter.\nLead implementation of MES features, enhancements, and technical work packages.\nSupport global MES template development and manufacturing site deployments.\nEnsure MES solutions are scalable, maintainable, compliant, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.\nSystems Design & Integration\nDesign MES workflows, services, integrations, and interfaces supporting manufacturing processes.\nDevelop and maintain integrations between MES, SAP, LIMS, automation systems, and enterprise platforms.\nBuild APIs, middleware solutions, and event-driven services.\nSupport integration testing, validation, deployment, and release activities.\nPromote reusable integration patterns and standardization across the MES landscape.\nSoftware Engineering & DevOps\nDevelop high-quality software using modern engineering standards and best practices.\nApply software engineering practices.\nHands-on experience with AI-enabled developer tools, coding assistants, copilots, or agentic workflows.\nExperience identifying and implementing AI-driven productivity improvements within software delivery processes.\nStrong programming skills in Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, or similar technologies.\nExperience with APIs, microservices, cloud-native architectures, CI/CD, DevOps, and software automation.\nHands-on experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).\nExperience working with Siemens OpCenter or comparable MES platforms.\nExperience integrating MES with SAP, LIMS, automation systems, or enterprise platforms.\nFamiliarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.\nUnderstanding of GxP, validation, data integrity, and security
