This role will support maintenance and reliability initiatives, continuous improvement projects, engineering activities and operational performance across the site.\nWorking closely with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams, you will contribute to equipment reliability, asset performance, project delivery and process improvement activities while supporting Bayer's commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working closely with operators and maintenance teams, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving practical solutions through to implementation. We are open to both developing and experienced engineers, with attitude, ownership and a continuous improvement mindset valued as highly as technical capability and experience.\nRole Responsibilities\nAct as a primary engineering contact for maintenance and reliability activities.\nSupport the development, optimisation and execution of maintenance strategies.\nParticipate in equipment failure investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.\nAnalyse maintenance and operational data to identify reliability trends and improvement opportunities.\nMaintain equipment records, asset information and maintenance plans.\nSupport continuous improvement projects focused on safety, reliability, productivity, quality and efficiency.\nCollect and analyse operational data to identify opportunities for process improvement.\nAssist with engineering projects, plant modifications and commissioning activities.\nPrepare technical reports, procedures and engineering documentation.\nSupport contractor management and project execution activities.\nParticipate in risk assessments, Management of Change (MoC) activities and incident investigations.\nPromote and uphold Bayer's safety culture and compliance requirements.\nEnsure maintenance teams receive appropriate documentation, training and support following equipment modifications or new asset installations.\nBuild strong relationships with operators, maintainers and supervisors to identify and resolve operational issues.\nProactively identify opportunities to improve safety, reliability, quality, efficiency and operational performance.\nRequired Experience & Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Mechatronic, Industrial, Manufacturing or related Engineering discipline.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.\nAbility to work collaboratively across Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams.\nCommitment to safety, continuous improvement and operational excellence.\nDemonstrated initiative, accountability and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements.\nWe welcome applications from both experienced engineers and engineers earlier in their careers who can demonstrate curiosity, ownership and a genuine desire to learn and improve.\nDesired Experience\nExperience in manufacturing, maintenance, reliability, operations or process engineering environments.\nExposure to maintenance management systems (e.g. SAP PM or similar).\nExposure to root cause analysis, continuous improvement and engineering project delivery.\nExperience working closely with operators, maintainers and production teams.\nQualification accredited by Engineers Australia or eligibility to obtain accreditation within 6 months\nAre you ready for your next step?\nAt Bayer Crop Science, we're helping to shape the future of agriculture through innovation, advanced breeding, and data-driven research.\nReady to make a difference?
