Activities will be conducted in both office and laboratory environments. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience supporting systems engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle while working closely with cross-functional teams involved in the development of regulated medical devices.\nYOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nThe primary responsibilities of this role are to:\nSupport systems engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle;\nAssist with requirements development, review, traceability, and change management activities;\nSupport verification and validation planning, execution, data collection, and reporting;\nParticipate in engineering investigations and root cause analysis activities;\nAssist with risk management activities, including hazard identification, risk analysis, and risk control verification;\nContribute to human factors and usability engineering activities, including test preparation and analysis;\nAnalyze test data and prepare engineering summaries and technical reports;\nSupport design reviews and cross-functional project meetings;\nWork in laboratory and office environments to develop practical solutions to engineering challenges;\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives within the Systems Engineering organization;\nAssist with technical documentation required for regulated medical device development.\nWHO YOU ARE\nBayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:\nRequired:\nCurrently enrolled in an accredited bachelor's or master's degree program in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, or a related engineering discipline;\nCompletion of sophomore year or higher;\nAbility to work full-time during the Co-op assignment;\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills;\nAbility to work effectively in a team environment;\nEffective written and verbal communication skills;\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams;\nAbility to organize and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.\nPreferred:\nLaboratory or engineering project experience;\nCoursework in medical device development;\nExposure to verification, validation, quality, reliability, or risk management concepts;\nFamiliarity with regulatory environments or standards-based development.\nEmployees can expect to be paid an hourly rate of approximately between $24.00 to $45.50. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits may include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. (if relevant).
