This role supports the Fraud Manager/BSA Officer in maintaining a comprehensive and effective BSA/AML and OFAC compliance program by supervising BSA staff, managing workflow and alert investigations, reviewing regulatory filings, assisting with risk assessments, supporting internal and external audits and examinations, and delivering guidance, coaching, and training to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Credit Union policies.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SUPPORTING DUTIES:\nSupervise daily BSA/AML and OFAC monitoring activities, including alert reviews, case management, and escalations.\nProvide guidance, coaching, and support to BSA staff to ensure regulatory compliance and operational effectiveness.\nOversee investigations involving suspicious activity, high-risk accounts, and unusual transaction activity.\nReview BSA cases, SAR narratives, CTRs, and supporting documentation for quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.\nProvide guidance on escalated sanctions and information-sharing matters.\nSupport compliance with OFAC, 314(a), and 314(b) requirements and related procedures.\nCoordinate and support BSA/AML, OFAC, and financial crimes training initiatives.\nSupervise, coach, and develop BSA staff to support departmental and organizational objectives.\nAssist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management activities.\nQUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:\nRequired Education: A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study in a similar or related field.\nCertification:\nCertifications such as Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Specialist (BSACS), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS).\nCandidate must earn a professional certification [e.g., Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS) within 24 months of employment.\nPreferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related field.\nRequired Experience: 3 to 5 years of related experience with financial crimes, fraud prevention, fraud risk management, and the BSA/AML and OFAC.\nKnowledge of financial institutions and products and services offered.\nPreferred Experience: Prior experience in a supervisory role of one-year or more.\nSkills and Abilities:\nAbility to adhere to BayPort Credit Union’s Core Values: Integrity, Be Bold, Compassion, Diversity, Innovation, It’s On Me, and One Team.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office (includes Word and Excel).\nExcellent organizational skills; strong attention to detail and accuracy.\nExceptional written communication skills; including dictation, spelling, and grammar accuracy.\nExcellent oral communication skills; communicate clearly in all situations, and conduct business over the telephone.\nExhibit strong member service and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work independently, using personal judgment and problem-solving techniques to complete tasks in a timely fashion.\nCapability of working within a team, with other CU departments, and external service providers.\nThis job description is not an all-inclusive list of the responsibilities, skills, working conditions or essential functions of this job.
