As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for advancing our development stack and ensuring scale as we grow to millions of monthly active users across many countries.\nIn this role, you will:\nHit the ground running - Gather an up-to-date, in-depth understanding of the dubizzle codebase and technology stack within weeks.\nLead planning sessions around new product features and deliver detailed roll-out/roll-back strategies for releases.\nResearch and apply industry trends as part of your daily work.\nCreate unit tests in accordance with our established standards to cover assigned work.\nWrite and maintain exemplary code following dubizzle’s programming practices.\nActively contribute to post-release maintenance issues.\nBuild complex problems and deliver practical, high-impact solutions. \nPioneer reliability and efficiency of our current code base, platforms and/or core systems.\nImpact on the direction and scope of dubizzle’s technical vision within your stream.\nWork in a mentoring capacity within a peer-programming environment and guide tasks, irrespective of complexity or scale.\nCode-review all major pull requests, define programming standards, and provide constructive feedback.\nDesign and delivery of multiple REST-based APIs and previous exposure to Service Oriented Architecture.\nCapacity to push back requirements when incomplete.\nHandle the entire software development life cycle end-to-end.\nLead product planning meetings and architect solutions within your stream.\nLiaise with the other back-end engineers within your product stream, the QA team, the design team and your Tech Team Lead.\nLiaise with other tech teams to share innovations from your stream.\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering preferred.\n6+ years of professional back-end software engineering experience in Python (Django).\nExperience with cloud-hosted infrastructure and Technologies; AWS preferred.\nPrior experience with Kubernetes & Docker will earn you brownie points.\nExperience working on high-traffic and large-scale web products is preferred.\nExperience with web infrastructure, SOA, distributed systems, performance analysis, and search infrastructure.\nStrong understanding of design patterns including asynchronous programming, queuing, logging, security and persistence.\nMastery of different caching layers and strategies, including memcached.\nGood understanding of build process management and continuous integration.\nMastery of testing methodologies (unit tests, component tests, integration tests, etc.)\nAbility to handle the entire software development life cycle end-to-end.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to prioritise tasks and quickly adjust in a rapidly changing environment.\nDriven to gain insight into different new and old technologies.\nAnalytical thinking, conceptual thinking, detail-oriented.\nBenefits\n A fast paced, high performing team.\n Multicultural environment with over 60 different nationalities\n Competitive Tax-free Salary\n Comprehensive Health Insurance\n Annual Air Ticket Allowance\n Employee discounts at multiple vendors across the emirates\n Rewards & Recognitions\n Learning & Development\n Bayut & dubizzle is an equal opportunity employer.
