Responsibilities include but are not limited to:\nCaptive Accounting & Financial Reporting\nPerform all accounting activities for assigned captive insurance entities, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and customized financial and management reports.\nPrepare and review monthly and quarterly financial statement packages in accordance with GAAP, SAP, and modified GAAP, as applicable.\nMonitor cash activity, investment activity, and intercompany transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.\nPrepare budgets, forecasts, and ad hoc financial analyses to support client and internal reporting needs.\nRegulatory & Compliance Management\nPrepare and file regulatory submissions, including premium tax returns, NAIC Blank Forms, and other domicile-specific filings for captive insurance companies and Risk Retention Groups.\nServe as the primary accounting contact for regulatory matters across onshore and offshore domiciles, which may include Vermont, Hawaii, District of Columbia, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, and other U.S. and international jurisdictions.\nMaintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and compliance obligations impacting captive clients.\nAudit & Service Provider Coordination\nLead audit preparation and substantive review activities, including drafting and reviewing audit schedules, financial statements, and supporting documentation to obtain clean audit opinions.\nCoordinate and communicate with external service providers, including auditors, actuaries, tax advisors, regulators, investment managers, and bankers, ensuring timely and accurate information exchange.\nProvide guidance on accounting developments, investment regulations, and compliance considerations affecting captive programs.\nClient Engagement & Advisory Support\nAct as a trusted advisor and primary accounting contact for assigned captive clients, including participation in client, shareholder, and Board of Director meetings as needed.\nPresent financial results and explain complex accounting matters in a clear, professional manner to non-technical audiences.\nSupport client retention through consistent service delivery, responsiveness, and high-quality financial reporting.\nOther client service & support activities at the direction of management.\nSystems & Process Management\nUtilize multiple accounting and reporting systems, including Acumatica, MAS 500, BizNet, Velixo, and Wings, to prepare and deliver accurate financial information.\nIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies while maintaining compliance and data integrity.\nSupport internal initiatives related to system enhancements, documentation standards, and process consistency across the Captive Practice.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.\nMinimum of 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within captive insurance, insurance, or financial services.\nStrong knowledge of GAAP and insurance accounting principles.\nDemonstrated ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines with minimal supervision.\nStrong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent interpersonal, communication, and client service skills.\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and enterprise accounting systems.\nPreferred:\nCPA designation\nExperience with captive insurance companies and multiple regulatory domiciles.\nPay Range\n110000 - 120000 AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.\nTeammate Benefits & Total Well-Being\nWe go beyond standard benefits, focusing on the total well-being of our teammates, including:\nHealth Benefits: Medical/Rx, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance \nFinancial Benefits: ESPP; 401k; Student Loan Assistance; Tuition Reimbursement \nMental Health & Wellness: Free Mental Health & Enhanced Advocacy Services\nBeyond Benefits: Paid Time Off, Holidays, Preferred Partner Discounts and more. \nNot reflective of all benefits.
