As a Senior Accountant, you'll play a pivotal role in leading a timely and accurate month-end close, keeping our bank, investment, and balance sheet accounts reconciled, and producing reliable financial statements and reports that strengthen the programs and experiences we create for Jewish teens. Alongside your teammates, you'll connect in a dynamic environment and create a positive impact on teens, our community, and the world.\nSHAPING THE FUTURE FOR TEENS AND YOURSELF\nAs a Senior Accountant, a typical day will include:\nDriving the month-end close: preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules so the books close on time and accurately\nCompleting bank, investment, and balance sheet reconciliations, then researching and resolving any variances\nPreparing and reviewing monthly financial statements, and maintaining subsidiary ledgers and schedules\nProducing standard and ad hoc reports that help Finance leadership and program teams make informed decisions\nSupporting non-finance staff with questions about expenses, coding, budgets, and systems like RAMP and Sage\nPartnering with the Controller and Finance leadership on special projects, process improvements, and audit preparation\nESSENTIAL SKILLS FOR MAKING A LASTING IMPACT\nOur team has an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for innovation to drive positive change. In addition, these skills are key to success as a Senior Accountant:\nAbilities: You work independently and connect the dots across varied work. You pay close attention to detail and can multitask in a fast-paced environment. You communicate clearly in writing and in conversation, and you're team-oriented, organized, and self-motivated.\nTechnical Skills: You're proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office 365 and comfortable working with accounting databases.
