Based in Victoria, BC, the province's capital and one of the most livable cities on Canada's west coast, or in Vancouver, you'll join a Technology team that treats collaboration and continuous improvement as the norm, not the exception.\nReporting to the Senior Manager, Service Delivery (HR, Legal, CR&A, Corporate), the Platform Engineer owns the engineering, reliability, and evolution of BCI's Workday platform, building and sustaining integrations, configuring platform capabilities, and ensuring dependable data flow and reporting across HR, Finance, Payroll, and Procurement.\nThe Platform Engineer partners closely with vendors and internal teams to design and support robust integration solutions using modern Workday tooling and API patterns, monitors platform health, and resolves complex issues through root cause analysis. The Platform Engineer sets integration architecture standards, mentors engineers, leads the most complex deliverables, and shapes platform strategy in partnership with the Senior Manager, while also working hands-on across mid to high complexity integrations and stakeholder engagements. This role will strengthen platform standards, security, and release readiness.\nThe Technology department is BCI's innovation catalyst and digital transformation engine, pioneering the future of institutional investment through cutting edge technology solutions, working closely with stakeholders across HR, Finance, Payroll, Procurement, Cyber Security, and Risk.\nWHAT YOU BRING\nBachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience\n\nHands-on Workday integration development experience, preferably in a mid-to-large enterprise environment\n\nWorkday security experience including PGP encryption and integration security configuration\n\nExperience supporting Workday HCM and at least one additional module: Financials, Payroll, or Procurement\n\nProficiency in Workday integration tools: Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, and Workday Orchestrate\n\nStrong technical skills using XSLT (including ETV and XTT), XML, JSON, SOAP, and REST APIs\n\nHands-on experience with Workday development including orchestration, PMD scripting, and UI components\n\nProficiency in Workday Report Writer including Advanced, Matrix, and Composite reports, calculated fields, and BIRT reporting\n\nExperience with Agile (Lean, Kanban, or Scrum) and DevOps methods and practices\n\nStrong communication and problem-solving skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and present solutions to leadership\n\nWorkday integration certification (Integration Core, Studio, and/or Extend) strongly preferred\n\nProven experience leading integration architecture decisions and setting team standards\n\nExperience mentoring engineers and leading technical design reviews\n\nTrack record of leading semi-annual release planning across multiple modules\n\nPreferred\nFamiliarity with Workday Prism Analytics; working knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and ETL concepts\n\nExperience with Azure or cloud-based integration patterns\n\nDemonstrated proficiency using AI assistants and/or agentic tools to accelerate Workday configuration, troubleshooting, and automation\n\nExposure to the investment management or financial services industry\n\nYOUR DAY TO DAY - WHAT YOU GET TO DO\nLeads the technical delivery and continuous improvement of Workday integrations and platform capabilities on a regular cadence as part of a service delivery team\n\nServes as the technical subject matter expert (SME) for the Workday platform, including integrations, and reporting capabilities\n\nDesigns, develops, tests, and maintains inbound and outbound Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, and Workday Orchestrate\n\nDevelops platform maturity roadmaps with an understanding of business objectives and technical needs and identifies opportunities for standardization, automation, and optimization across the Workday ecosystem\n\nDevelops, enhances, and maintains Workday custom reports (Advanced, Matrix, and Composite), calculated fields, and dashboards to support operational and analytical needs across Finance, HCM, Payroll, and Procurement\n\nDelivers projects and develops technical documentation including integration specifications, field mappings, and standard operating procedures, ensuring all deliverables meet internal technology governance standards\n\nMonitors integration health, scheduled jobs, alerts, and notifications; proactively identifies and resolves issues before they impact business operations; leads root cause analysis and communicates findings and remediation plans to stakeholders\n\nParticipates in Workday semi-annual release reviews; assesses the impact of new features on existing integrations, develops readiness plans, and coordinates integration testing prerequisites\n\nAnalyzes business requirements and proposes scalable technical solutions; challenges assumptions, thinks critically, and brings ideas to the table rather than simply building to spec\n\nContributes to platform governance practices including change management, security administration, and access controls in line with BCI's technology directives; supports risk and security assessments in collaboration with Cyber Security and Risk teams\n\nCreates and maintains positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across HR, Finance, Payroll, Procurement, and Technology\n\nCultivates and shares Workday knowledge with others through internal technical communities, Workday Community engagement, and documentation artifacts to create a strong culture of team-based collaboration\n\nApplies knowledge of Agile methods and continuously improves delivery performance through delivery reporting and tracking, backlog development and grooming, sprint or increment planning, and participating in retrospectives\n\nSets integration architecture standards and leads technical design reviews across the Workday ecosystem\n\nProvides guidance, mentorship, and training to Platform Engineers\n\nLeads the most complex, high-stakes integration projects and stakeholder engagements\n\nActs as primary technical escalation point for platform issues\n\nWORK LOCATION\nThis role can be based in either our Victoria or Vancouver office.
