WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

The Private Equity department manages a diverse global portfolio of approximately $38 billionin global private equity investments comprising offund, direct and co-investments. Portfolio growth over the coming years will be driven by an increased emphasis on direct investment, strong partner relationshipsand actively creating value from the portfolio to deliver superior returns for our clients.

Our department currently consists of ~65 professionals spanning offices locatedin Victoria, Londonand New York City,organized into six sub-teams: Direct Investments, Fund Investments, Venture & Growth, Investment Process, Reporting & Analytics, and Finance Operations. Our Direct Investments team can be further broken down into six sector-focused teams that cover the Financial and Business Services, Consumer, Healthcare, Industrials, Technology, Media & Communications and Capital Solutions.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

The Private Equity Finance Operations team supports BCI's private equity investment activities, spanning transaction processing, valuations and reporting, legal and document coordination, and cross-functional projects with internal and external partners. The team is hiring for two co-op/intern positions: one focused on Transactions and one focused on Reporting. Both roles offer a well-rounded introduction to Private Equity Finance Operations, combining an accounting and finance foundation with the team's growing use of data, technology, and AI. Co-ops will work closely with senior team members across both functions, gaining exposure not only to their primary workstream but also to the complementary side of the team's work.

**Please note these positions do not sit on a deal team, nor involve due diligence responsibilities.

PE Finance Operations Co-op/Intern - Transactions (4 months):

The PE Finance Operations Transactions Co-op/Intern will support the team's transactions’ functions, assistingwith day-to-day transaction processing, reconciliations, and investment administration. This includes processing transaction notices, preparing payment instructions, supporting investment closings and lifecycle events, and helping maintaindata integrity across BCI's financial systems, under the guidance of senior team members. In addition, the co-op or intern will contribute to AI-enabled workflows and automation that strengthen the accuracy and efficiency of team processes, collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners.

As capacity allows, the co-op or intern will also gain hands-on exposure to reporting activities, including quarterly and annual valuation support and portfolio/client reporting deliverables.

Primary responsibilities will include the following:

  • Supports transaction processing: capital call/distribution notices, accounting allocations, and payment/receipt instructions to external managers.

  • Reconciles data across systems, including unfunded/total commitments (SOC1-aligned), investigatingand resolving discrepancies as needed.

  • Assistswith investment closings, lifecycle events, and related fee/expense/distribution activities under the guidance of senior team members.

  • Monitorsshared email inboxes, handlesroutine inquiries and invoicing, and redirectscomplex matters to appropriate teammembers.

  • Maintainsdocument tracking, organization, retrieval, and policies/procedures documentation for investment transactions.

  • Supports data entry, verification, and maintenance in financial systems; helps prepare meeting materials and coordinate scheduling for lifecycle events.

  • Provides general ad-hoc support to the Finance Operations team, including data entry and maintenance in financial systems.

PE Finance Operations Co-op/Intern - Reporting (8 months):

The PE Finance Operations Reporting Co-op/Intern will support the team’s reporting functions, assistingwith the quarterly/annual fund and principal valuations, commitment tracking, fee and carried interest reporting, client and financial reporting, shared inbox management, and audit and SOC1 support activities. In addition, the co-op or intern will contribute to AI-enabled workflows and automation that strengthen the accuracy and efficiency of team processes, collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners. As capacity allows, the co-op or intern will also gain hands-on exposure to transaction processing, investment closing, and lifecycle activities under the supervision of senior team members.

Primary responsibilities will include the following:

  • Supports the execution of quarterly fund and principal valuation calculations, with oversight from senior team members.

  • Contributes to fee analysis and audit/SOC1 preparation activities, helping ensure accuracy and compliance across reporting cycles.

  • Assistswith internal and portfolio reporting deliverables, including data capture, validation, and analysis to support reporting insights.

  • Adopts AI-enabled workflows and automation, identifyinginefficiencies in reportingprocesses and recommending improvements.

  • Supports investment transactions and investment closings, as applicable, including related document organization, retrieval, and filing.

  • Monitorsand manages shared email inboxes, responding to routine inquiries and directing complex matters to appropriate team members.

  • Provides general ad-hoc support to the Finance Operations team, including data entry and maintenance in financial systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must Have:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Business, Economics, or a relatedprogram.

  • Detail-oriented, with a consistent, high levelof accuracy across recurring tasks.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze issues and propose practical solutions.

  • Professional communication and teamwork skills.

  • Demonstratedreliability and accountability, with the ability to manage and prioritize fluctuating workloads.

  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Microsoft Excel).

  • Eagerness to learn about finance, operations, and accounting.

Preferred:

  • General understanding of investment and accounting principles.

  • Familiarity with financial systems, reporting tools, and AI-enabled technologies.

  • Prior internship, co-op, or part-time experience involving financial data or reporting.
